They are complete scammers!!! Customer service is horrible. I paid for booking online and they told me that is a website fee and rung up another $317 charge plus they don’t allow you to use your own ez pass and want $20 a day for tolls. Run away before you waste your time and money and ruin your precious vacation time

I rented a car for 18 days from this company and at first I was nervous about it. But my rental experience was the greatest! A day before my return I had an issue with my unit,so I contacted the company and they help me immediately. They replaced my car and the even took it to my address. I recommend this company 100% my recommendation is to book it directly with the company instead of a third party. Everything is included with the quote they offer. What they advertise is what you pay. And paying in advance was the best thing to do. Mr.Andrés Elvira,Jaime Luna were the best. And Maricruz from the Manzanillo Airport was also wonderful. I'll be renting from America car rental from now on and recommending to all my friends and family to do the same.
Scam! I paid in full on Priceline. When we arrived at the Orlando airport, I called the number they gave me for a shuttle. It took almost an hour for the shuttle to come and then we drove at least 15 minutes away to their isolated location. The shuttle driver was also the only employee at the counter, which explains the delay. He told me I had not paid in full, which was a lie, and then charged me an additional $390 for the car, which he "upgraded" for free. The car was old and small; it didn't seem like an upgrade. When he pulled it around, he then told me the keyfob was dead and I would have to use the emergency key and touch the fob to the ignition button to start it - which was an inconvenience. I had to try multiple phone number to contact the company before I got one that worked. Then, I could only leave a message. They texted me and asked me to send my documentation. I don't expect I'll see a resolution from them. I've contested the charge with my credit card company.
Once again Victor assisted me in arranging my rental. My cell service had difficulty calling the rental office and Victor worked with to secure rental.
Carmen helped me and my dad out greatly when checking in for our car rental. I did not speak a lot of Spanish but she held my hand through the whole process.
Regardless of language barrier representatives were nice, patient and polite.

I rented a van while in Monterrey, N.L., Mexico for a death in the family. I was happy that everything with America Car Rental went so smoothly. That was one less thing we had to worry about. I was pleased with the friendliness of the staff, the service and rental itself. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.
We rented at Cancun to drive to Belize and then Guatemala. America got all the documents and were very efficient. We rented for a month. Retrurn was easy, Shuttle to airport was great. Have rented with America before and will again.

Its a criminal organization, the scam is based on the short time period of the tourists that don't have time to report to the authorities/police and doesn't feel like becuase in holiday. They deliver cars semi broken or in bad conditions/ poor maintenance, further more they don't have a phisical assistance or enough replacement cars. 3 years ago they delivered me in Cancun office a car that after 2 kilometres the tire blowout. This year Dez. 2025 the Fraud was very well organized, after 300 metres from the pick up branch office in Playa del Carmen, the car broke down. Not phisical assistance (we were in downtown), not replacement car the day after. By the way the day after 4 persons (4 nationalities) including me had the exact same problem. Further more they tried to steal money from the Credid card for the rent+insurance+deposit approx 800 Usd, besides that they tried an overnight withdrawal of my Credit card for 2.400 Usd. Eventually I had booked trough VIPCARS site hoping they were another Rent a car, but they are just a service company they rely on Amercia Rental Car.
First I want to start off by saying “book through their website!” America Car Rental from Guadalajara Airport is a great service at a very reasonable price. Their customer service from beginning to end was great. Monica was the best in dealing with us and another family that was traveling. They have the most patience I have seen. Definitely will be booking with America Car Rental on my next trip to Guadalajara.
Avoid This Company: Predatory Fees and Unsafe, Ancient Vehicles I strongly advise anyone considering this rental agency to look elsewhere. My experience was a nightmare of hidden costs and safety concerns. The Fleet: The vehicles are incredibly old and poorly maintained. The car I was assigned felt completely unsuitable for modern driving conditions, with high mileage and visible wear that made me question its mechanical reliability. It is clear they do not reinvest in their fleet. Hidden Fees & Predatory Insurance: The "base price" is a total illusion. They aggressively push high-priced insurance packages like SLI ($39.99/day) and TPL ($29.99/day), which can easily double or triple your daily rate. The Insurance Trap: If you try to use your own US-based insurance (State Farm, Geico, etc.), they make it nearly impossible. You must provide a physical declaration page showing at least $500,000 in liability and property damage—far above standard requirements—just to avoid their exorbitant daily waivers. Ridiculous Add-ons: Their "extras" are priced at highway robbery levels. They charge $15/day for a GPS and a staggering $19.99 per day for "Unlimited Tolls." Even adding a second driver costs $9.99/day. Bottom Line: Between the old fleet, potentially unsafe cars and the relentless "administrative fees" and insurance traps, this is not a budget-friendly option. By the time you pay the mandatory holds and coverage fees, you could have rented a brand-new luxury vehicle from a reputable agency. Save yourself the stress and the safety risk—stay away.
