First and last booking through Kayak, deserves a ZERO !

Kayak doesn't have customer service, not even a phone number. Kayak outsources customer service to a company called Airfareassist. Once you've booked through Kayak, most, if not all, airlines will refuse to deal directly with you, and will force you to go through the travel agency, which in this case is Airfareassist, the company outsourced by Kayak. If you have any problem with the airline, you are completely dependent on Airfareassist's goodwill. It starts out acting like a simple mailbox. If you persist, it will intervene, but is very slow to find a solution. And if the case is more serious or difficult, it disappears, and then you're simply left with nothing, there is nothing you can do anymore.

KAYAK FACILITATES BAIT AND SWITCH

KAYAK FACILITATES BAIT AND SWITCH It's beyond clear by now - Kayak knows their vendors engage in bait and switch selling tactics, Kayak likely relies on the apparent savings to reinforce their (now dubious) brand image and thus Kayak aids and abets the efforts of its vendors to profit from false advertising. Many times in the last 6 months I have apparently booked a ticket on Kayak only to have those operators call to say they cannot fulfill my ticket at the agreed price. Now that practice has extended to those tickets sold as "instant book". Businessclass.com cannot be trusted. Kayak must know it. I booked an "instant book" ticket, received a "Booked" response and a confirmation code and then was told I needed to spend $4,000 more for the tickets I had just "instantly booked". They then fought long and hard to deny that they had any obligation to honor an instant book contract. I understand that their system failed to produce an accurate price. That is the fault of their system and not the airline nor customer. Contract 101 says that the terms against which the contract was settled should prevail, regardless of whether the counterparty needs to accept a loss to deliver on the contract. That's what has not happened here. Kayak now must accept that ongoing behavior of this type and magnitude reflects both poorly on their brand and has now tipped them into aiding and abetting fraud.

It's my first transaction, and I'm so disappointed

I was looking for the lowest price ticket to purchase a Japanese ticket, but when I paid for it on the kayak site, I was connected to Kiwi Dotcom and paid for it. During the approval process, the payment for the flight and the flight from Kiwi was supposed to be approved After I paid for the flight ticket (from Korea to Fukuoka), I suddenly got a message to increase the ticket from Fukuoka to Korea, so I canceled the flight ticket I paid because the ticket from Fukuoka to Korea was supposed to be paid with an increased amount, not the amount I originally knew. I wanted to make a call with the Kiwi Call Center after canceling on the day of March 25th, but it didn't work. I received an email from Kiwi.COM that the airline is reviewing your cancellation and will check the refund amount and eligibility Without any guidance on the progress after that I received an e-mail from Kiwi on 4/8 asking me to choose a refund method. The refund method was Kiwi Credit or the existing payment method. It was an unconvincing refund amount without any explanation of the refund regulations. I can't accept that part, and I don't think it's right to make a purchase request with the lowest price product and deceive customers without any notice or guidance. I sent an e-mail saying that I want to know exactly about the refund regulations and I can't accept this amount, but I haven't heard back yet. I'm dissatisfied that I can't get in touch with the actual kiwi, and I can't get proper guidance, ignoring the customer's inconvenience too much If this inconvenience persists, we also think that our customer's credibility will be reduced and our image will be tarnished.

I booked a flight on Kayak today and apparently it was a scam. I cannot get ANY help--just machine-talk.

Big regret

I booked a flight through Kayak, which routed me to Underpricer without clearly emphasizing the tradeoffs of using a third-party agency. After booking, I found I could not select seats directly through Aer Lingus because of the third-party restriction. Instead, I was pushed to purchase seat assignments through Underpricer for about $500. The flight itself is valid, but the experience is frustrating. You lose flexibility and basic airline functionality, then get upsold after the fact. This reflects not just on Underpricer, but also on Kayak for directing customers into these bookings without clearer warnings about limitations. Recommendation: book directly with the airline or a more transparent provider.

Kayak is the biggest crooks ever, truly bait and switch company. Run run run

Hands-down, the worst experience I’ve ever seen the first time, I ever used kayak and my last time. I made a Car Rental reservation about 2 1/2 hours ago, for Washington Dulles airport pick up. When I got the actual reservation, it was for Sterling Virginia 30 miles away, which is absolutely ridiculous. Then trying to make the reservation to make sure that I had it, I called Avis and Avis said no your reservation is for Sterling not Dulles airport. It took me over an hour, to get the reservation changed and then the guy from kayak charged me $75 to make the change fee and I kept asking why would I have to pay when I didn’t book it at Sterling Virginia. He made me pay the $75 fee before he would actually send me an email stating that I had a Car Rental with Avis. This is bait and awitch. This is Fraud, and I plan on going to my bank and getting my $75 back cause I’m not gonna pay it. Do not book anything with kayak. They are the biggest crooks in the world. I would rather pay 50% more than book with them and any day of the week. Run run run away from them absolute crooks.

You get what you pay for

You get what you pay for. They do not book, they have third party "agencies" that only want to upsell and not support customer when they need it. If you have a issue with your flight you are on your own.

Kept refreshing while I was attempting…

Kept refreshing while I was attempting to book an international flight. Each time, it cleared the cache and forced data re-entry. Apparently this is because their pricing is dynamic and any changes force the user to startover. Lame business model.

Scam Alert: Kayak and Agoda hotel booking

I am absolutely furious. I searched on Kayak for a hotel stay from March 4th to 5th (tonight). Kayak redirected me to Agoda, but during the redirect, the dates were silently changed to March 11th–12th. I trusted the search results and paid for the hotel, only to realize I lost my money on a booking I never wanted. This is a deceptive practice between Kayak and Agoda. They lure you in with a price for your date and then switch it at checkout. Total scam – do not trust them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SCAM Alert on Kayak

SCAM Alert on Kayak! Why on earth Kayak associates themselves with AIRFARE ASSIST, a bunch of scammers? I booked a flight to Tenerife thru Kayak, they send me a flight confirmation, with a reservation code and all, and I thought I was done. It was a return flight, and I did not care much about it, I had the 5 digit reservation code. On my last day of vacation, I tried to check in for my flight... the flight was never paid and booked. I spent the last day of my vacation chatting with the airline, and trying to figure out what happened. It was NEVER paid for, I had no flight, and was forced to purchase a NEW return flight from United. When I came home, I immediately disputed the charge with my credit card, and the next day, I received an email from "Vincent", a rep from AirfareAssist, stating that I need to email back and state I am not disputing the charge. I sent them all the communication with the airline, explaining to them I did not get the ticket. They never came back although I sent them subsequent emails with clear proof the flight was never issued. Stay away from Kayak's 3rd party associates.
