Hotel VERY poor... booking OK

The hotel I booked was apparently 4 star, but was very poor and certainly didn't compare to other 4 star hotels I've stayed at within Paris. The rooms were small. The minibar had very few items in it and no list of what drinks were supposed to in it. I was worried the hotel would bill me for items I hadn't used, but when I queried it with staff I was told it's OK because WE know what should be in there! The reception staff were generally 'surly' and not very welcoming. To cap the experience, the fire alarm went off twice due to power cuts. Again, staff were not communicating, and certainly not apologising, to residents for the inconvenience of being awoken rudely and in a state of mild panic. The lift stated maximum 4 people, but rarely allowed more than 1 at a time! I could go on... I'm giving LastMinute two stars in my review because Paris itself was wonderful and we actually had a great time when not at the hotel. The booking process was easy and clear. I feel the hotel BADLY let them down and LastMinute would do well to exercise some quality control when selecting hotels (in my opinion).
