The easiest and most convenient way to use money while you travel! We used Wise on our recent trip to Japan and it was so easy. Transferring and converting the money at a good rate before we arrived was great and easy access to our money once we were were made our trip stress free.
For over a month I have been contacting Wise support daily trying to get my account verified. Every single day I was told the same thing: that my case would be escalated to a “specialised team” and that I would hear back “tomorrow.” Tomorrow never came. The issue concerns verifying my home address, something I have already submitted multiple times. I genuinely do not understand how difficult it can be to verify a person’s address after repeated documentation has been provided. What made the experience even worse was the constant contradiction and apparent dishonesty. One support agent would assure me that my case had been escalated, only for the next agent to tell me it had not actually been escalated at all. This happened repeatedly. I felt like I was being misled just to end the conversation. The whole experience has been deeply frustrating, disheartening, and honestly humiliating. I expected far better communication and professionalism from a financial company handling people’s money and personal information. At this point I feel completely stuck in an endless loop of scripted responses with no real resolution.
To me, the main factor is trustworthy, good rate, easy to used and fast to receive money!

Wise is literally the best, easy as transfers and when transferring upwards of 30 k it can be quite nerve racking, but all the confirmation emails etc is reassuring also the rate is better than every other exchange

All goes well until they freeze your account due to regulatory check for 2 weeks without any notice, email, warning, notification. Nothing. The customer support in the app is not proving a single line of help. Awful experience.
I am in complete shock. Wise has officially stolen my money, and no one at their so-called “support” team will take responsibility. A month ago, they told me they were closing my account and asked me to withdraw my funds. Fine. But every single time I tried to transfer MY money out, they cancelled the transfer. Their excuse? “Address proof.” I submitted that same document dozens of times – clear, valid, correct. But they kept rejecting it and cancelling my transfers over and over. I contacted support more times than I can count. Every agent promised me the same lie: “Nothing is wrong, you are eligible to take your funds, we will solve it.” Weeks went by. Nothing happened. They just kept closing the chat on me without any real solution. Then today – the final betrayal. I log in, and my money is GONE. Wise transferred all of it to a third-party account without my permission. They marked the transaction as “initiated by me” – which is a complete and utter LIE. I never authorized that transfer. I was literally in the middle of talking to support about getting MY money out, and instead of helping, they stole everything and shut me down. DO NOT TRUST WISE WITH A SINGLE DOLLAR. They will promise you the world, waste your time with fake document requests, lie to your face through support chats, and when you’re not looking – they will empty your account and pretend you did it.
I have been travelling in South Africa and the WISE card has been my life saver! Works a treat everywhere here in SA!! Definitely take it on all my travels!!!
