Lowe's receives a 2.5/5 rating driven by widespread failures in third-party installation services, product delivery issues, and inconsistent customer service, though individual employees occasionally provide exceptional support.

The experience was much worse than buying from Amazon. I ordered a 5-inch hex bolt and nylon insert nuts, but Lowe's sent me a 3-inch bolt and standard nuts instead. I called customer service and asked them to send the correct items as soon as possible while I returned the incorrect ones, but they refused to do so until they received the return first in store. For an order worth less than $5, the inconvenience and delay were not worth it. This experience lost them a customer.
Zero stars if I could. I ordered a cooktop in February and spent the next 3 months calling nearly twice a week with zero updates, zero follow-through from managers who promised callbacks, and zero accountability. I spent $850 out of pocket on a permit and gas inspection — required by Lowe's own installer — on top of $3,000+ for the cooktop, installation, and warranty. After three months, the cooktop finally arrived. Lowe's plumber came to install it, and near the end of the job declared it defective. My original, perfectly working cooktop had already been removed and taken away. I now have no stove at home — with a 3-year-old child. To make it worse, my warranty started in February and has been running the entire time the product sat uninstalled. I've spoken to multiple managers and supervisors. Not one followed up. If you're considering Lowe's for a major appliance or installation, think twice. The customer service breakdown at every level has been staggering.
I purchased hardwood flooring materials and installation services through Lowe’s at 1700 W. 133rd Street in Kansas City, Missouri. While some portions of my overall project were completed properly, the hardwood flooring installation in my kitchen and hallway became a months-long issue involving repeated repair attempts and unresolved defects. The flooring had to be removed and reinstalled after installation problems occurred. Installers returned to my home multiple times between October 2025 and February 2026 attempting to correct issues including uneven planks, visible gaps, damaged trim work, and flooring damage caused during installation. Even after repeated repair attempts, there is still a loose hardwood plank that shifts when stepped on. I documented the condition of the flooring with photographs, videos, and communications throughout the process. Although Lowe’s corporate representatives remained in contact regarding the matter, I am disappointed that the installation issues were not fully resolved after so many visits and months of disruption.
NEVER GO TO LOWE’S FOR FLOOR INSTALLATIONS. We went through Lowe’s to replace our carpet with laminate flooring, and the entire experience has been a nightmare from start to finish. We initially worked with Bradley on the sales side and received several quotes. Everything seemed fine at first. Lowe’s sent someone out to do measurements, and the process appeared standard. A contract was written, and we paid in full at the end of March 2026. After that, we waited to hear back about an installation date. Then Lowe’s informed us there were issues with labor costs for our stairs that had not been included in the contract. After several weeks, Frank at the Rancho Santa Margarita Lowe’s was finally able to resolve that issue. Next, we were told the project was delayed because stair pieces were out of stock and the project could not be released to Keller Interiors. That delay lasted about a month. Once the product finally arrived, we personally went to the store to pick it up ourselves in hopes of speeding things along. When the contractors from Kellers Interiors finally showed up to assess the job, they immediately advised us that the contract did not look correct. They sat for nearly two hours waiting for Keller and Lowe’s to sort things out before ultimately telling us they could not begin the installation until the contract was corrected and additional labor costs were paid. At this point, I still have not heard back from anyone. I have now escalated the issue by emailing both the CEOs of Lowe’s and Keller Interiors. As I’m writing this, our project still has not started, and all of the flooring materials are sitting in our garage. Now we wait to see how long it takes for anyone to respond — or whether they even care.
I purchased an LG brand washer and dryer on Friday, April 24, 2026 from the Lowes located in Brownsburg, IN. They promised delivery and installation on Sunday, April 26. However, the third party they used for delivery and installation hired two people, one of which spoke no English and the other needed a phone to serve as a translator. When attempting to connect the flexible vent hose from the dryer to the wall inlet, they inadvertently pulled apart part of the duct vent making it impossible to make a connection. They attempted to effect a repair by using pliers to pull at the section of duct behind the drywall only to damage it further. I made a claim through Lowes third party administrator, Spirit Logistics Network, who denied my claim because it would cost me more money to litigate than the cost of the repair. They refused to take responsibility for the damage caused by their contractor.
I would give zero stars if they had it up there third time I’ve used them and will never use them again. Ordered 3-5 gallons of white paint rollers a roller handle plastic tape and a metal pan $263 supposed to be here Sunday. They lied if I ordered before two. Monday morning canceled my paint order out of stock. no painter handle no plastic no tape delivered a metal pan and three roller covers a lot of good that did me $19.30 was overcharged on top of it. they lie just to get you to order. I’m done with Lowe’s.
Bought 2 arien mowers. One been fine, 150 hrs Other apex has been in lowes repair facility 3 times, 4th time back was told no more repairs, have to go to ariens co. They say lowes responsible. Looking into small claims suit or suit against both companies. Will never, ever buy from lowes again.
What a crappy store. I went in to get a copy of my receipt from a recent purchase. They have zero ways of finding a customer receipt. I spent 20 minutes watching the customer service manager trying to locate it on her computer. I finally gave up and walked away. Menards and Home Depot can generate one in 60 seconds. Then I went to get a seven foot piece of carpet off one of their 12’ rolls. Their website said they had 118 feet. Turns out they had zero. The guy working in carpet seemed as high as a kite. He said “our inventory sucks.” He found a 6x8 foot scrap and then said “maybe you can use this man.” I then walked out of the store and will never return to another Lowe’s as long as I live. The place is a mismanaged shit show. The people working there had zero professionalism or experience. If Lowe’s survives another year, I’ll be shocked. It reminded me of the old Kmarts and we know what happened to them. They best get their act together ASAP.
Lowe's central selling specialist appear to be out of touch with how to write up a quote to include what is actually needed for a flooring installation to take place. What should have been an easy 2 part flooring installation quickly turned to frustration with Lowe's and their third party installing company Keller Interiors not communicating and leaving unanswered questions up in the air with no plan to try to resolve for the paying customer. When I reached out to Lowe's for resolve; their Executive Customer POC Amanda P was closed minded and offered no assistance outside of saying they will use it for training purposes. What about the charges I paid for undelivered services? Stay away from this organization. Lots of talk with no resolve for the customer.
On May 5, 2026 I participated in the rechargeable tool battery exchange at the Lowes Haun Rd, Menifee. I purchased a new Craftsman Drill/Impact Driver kit as a gift. I gave the gift, only to find out after the recipient opened it, that the impact driver and batteries had been used! Sly customer, neatly repacked in original plastic and stuffed into the tool bag and into original box! Lowes accepted the return and didn't bother to check the packaging. The impact driver is sticky, coated in saw dust and who knows what else, one battery was fully charged. So embarrassing! Then to top it off, I went to the Hemet Lowes to exchange the item and they wouldn't process the exchange. I could get a refund for what I paid, but lose the $50 coupon from the battery exchange. Store manager stated that they didn't participate in the battery exchange, so he couldn't help me! I should have never bought Craftsman or gone to Lowes! BUYER BEWARE!
Purchased a Hisense Refrigerator and now the unit is not working. Called Hisense at 877.465.3566 and the representative cannot hep. There are no service providers in Alaska that will service Hisense but yet, Lowes sells these products. Call Lowes customer service and got the AI, what a joke. Never stepping foot into a Lowes ever again
We purchased a Bosch refrigerator, paid for delivery, an extended warranty and take away of the old one. Based on previous appliances purchases, we assumed the new refrigerator would be delivered, installed and ready to go. The first “surprise” was that the installers cannot connect the water line to the ice maker. We were told we needed a plumber to do this - nobody ever said this at time of purchase, nor have we ever had this experience with previous purchases. This refrigerator was literally dumped in our kitchen with the only service being the unwrapping of the unit - which unveiled a large ding and scratch on the top. The installers called their contact and we were given a substantial discount, however, this in NO WAY makes up for the inconvenience and horrific experience of this purchase and delivery. We were inundated with trying to level, connect, set temperatures and attach parts that we know nothing about with technical instructions that are confusing and difficult to understand. This entire experience is horrific and I cannot even begin to express my dissatisfaction with the purchase and subsequent “service.”
The Lowes AI bot does not work and my call was dropped when I asked to be transferred to an agent. I wanted to make a large purchase. Not doing business with lowes anymore
