Rubbish always going wrong don’t waste your money
Poor design as far as the filtering goes. The filter medium should leave the water tasteless. On a previous review I highlighted that the bad taste never got washed out even after correctly priming it and after 20 days and filling the chambers about 30 times. This was using the filter that came with the machine. I then used a Aqua Optima limescale filter, which I primed correctly, and found the first couple of days the water was fine and tasteless. But with each following day the bad taste, as experienced with the first filter, returned. The chambers get refilled only when empty and about 3 times over 2 days. The bad design IMO is that the filter sits permanently in the water, whereas other filters sit above the filtered water. I'm going back to Plox filters even if they are a hassle to use, but at least I can drink their water. Cannot comment on the chiller side of things as I have no need for cold water.
we have no confidence that the repairman, aqua service or haier are capable of 1. repairing the fridge. 2 keeping their word 3. showing up to do the work
Stuck on descale mode even thought we have run over so many cycles. Manual says nothing about how to fix it, peice of garbage !!!
Worst machine ever, waste of £150, 2 months down the line I've got no help from customer service so I've thrown it away. Do not buy. It will keep giving faults for descaling and cleaning
Two identical Aqua Optima Aurora hot water dispenser models owned over a 3 year period, both developed electrical faults and tripped the consumer unit-based RCD during usage, becoming unsafe to use and unusable for their designed purpose. Cannot recommend this brand of hot water dispensers, when they have such a short usable lifespan. Customer Services were contacted whom responded with acknowledgment of an electrical fault in the product, however due to warranty expiry, they would not provide a resolve.
Tried both numbers for customer service they're both on answer phones but does not say business name. The aqua Optima is not very user friendly and does strange things of it's own accord. Usually I'd say user error (because hey I usually get this stuff wrong ) but therr are continuous problems and I constantly need to read the manual to sort it out. I've asked friends for their opinion to try and sort this time and they've no idea. Don't waste your money
Do not even bother buying one of these machines. I'm on my THIRD. I'm one month over my warranty with Robert Dyas and they won't help either. Each unit has encountered different issues, this time around the cooling element has gone. You can be extra vigilant with these machines and de scale properly, change filters, keep it clean and dry, makes no difference. In theory it's a great idea for a machine but it's just not in practice. So many people by all accounts, have issues. Money down the drain. I'm now going to save up for a good one. The price point of the Aqua Ultima hot and cold is excellent but let me tell you, you'll end up wasting money. Buying 3 in 3 years has set me back £500, had i have known I'd have invested in a decent unit by another manufacturer.
Me, I work in the water industry on the disinfection side of your drinking water. The descale light never came on so contacted customer services they instructed me how to descale but purely through the cold water side, strange I thought but they should know. Needless to say eventually (6 months later) the hot water side scaled so bad the heater faulted. I contacted them again with this information and because this was a few weeks out of warranty they didn't want to know and would take no responsibility for the bad advice first given that culminated in the failure of the product or the lack of descale alert from purchase plus the heater can't be replaced. Looking for an alternative product as this is drinking water so the product needs to be spot on.
It's great when it works, but similarly to others. I've had two of those and each failed with a different issue. First one started leaking and the second one started tripping my power randomly. A water dispenser like this is a life changer
I've had the Aqua Optima for under a year, all of a sudden my house started tripping and turning off the sockets for the entire house randomly. Eventually found out it was the AquaOptima hot and cold that would randomly trip the house or trip the house straight away if you press the hot water button. Everything looks completely normal and nothing to indicate an issue with the item, unfortunately this means it is now completely useless. looking online appears that this issue is it's not unique to me in the 2nd to many others which is really disappointing to see and I wish I knew it before I bought the item. Up until this point we have used it without issue replacing the filters regularly and hot water has always been produced as needed, mainly use the hot water but have used the cold feature as well. Mid December when issues started in 2025 I emailed the customer support team as their website, their website information doesn't have any Information on how to rectify this and you can only complete their form online I expected to delay due to the Christmas period however a month later I've had absolutely no response at all. Have sent message to them today. Really poor product if it breaks down under a year and reading other reviews online it appears that this is a common failt and not a one off issue. Very disappointed.
I bought these filters to use in my Brita Water filter. The first filter eventually worked for 8 days under minimum use before blocking. I replaced it this morning and followed the pre use instructions again but it is completely blocked. Despite several attempts to get it working, I have been unsuccessful. I'll be buying original Brita filters in future. A complete waste of money!
My kettle is scaling up after 7 days of using a new filter when the filter used to last 30 days. Very very poor and costly.
When checking out the info before buying, there was no mention of replacing the filter monthly, flushing most days, and now after 2 months having to descale before it will work, no one in my area stocks citric acid so I have ordered online, so now the unit is left on the side, when I do discale the unit will use up 5 litres of hot water, what a waste of electric and water. I live on my own so the unit is not used that much, if this happens again over the next 2 months I will be looking to return the unit. Also the cost of filters and citric acid added the the original cost of £150. Its a good job that I'm retired and have the time trying to sort out this problem. I have warned family & friends to be very wary of buying this item. The reviews on the Currys website for this unit were all Excellent.
I was experiencing issues with the last filter from a bundle, where, after just a few cycles of filtering water, it suddenly started to trickle and took a lot longer than it should to filter. I contacted Aqua-Optima via a web form and received a reply. They asked me for a photo, which I was unable to provide (the camera on my phone is broken). The photo they requested was of the rubber seal where the filter connects to the tank in the jug. I replied, telling them the issue with my camera and also that the issue I was experiencing was with the filter, not the seal, as 1 the seal is fine and 2 if it wasn't then the water would be flowing between the filter and the tank and not just trickling from the filter. I replied to them on the same day I received their email. This was a week ago, and still been no further communication from them. Thankfully, I had already purchased more filters when I started using the last one from the bundle. I appreciate that companies get busy, but a week and no reply is not very professional in my opinion.
