They are legit. They followed the target and had a pretty standard conversation trying to get her to meet up. It was especially nice that they made sure to ask explicitly for a date, so that it could not be confused with an agreement to a "friendly hangout". My only suggestion would have been to maybe continue the test further and see if the target would have agreed on a concrete appointment for a "friendly hangout" to know if the target tries to keep it secret from the partner.
