We experienced excellent service from Collinson Hall when looking to rent in St Albans. Any queries were promptly answered by friendly staff who guided us through the process with experience and knowledge of the property we were interested in. We were especially impressed by time taken to cater for our situation and the process moved quickly and smoothly. I would recommend without question.
We've had an extremely negative experience with Collinson Hall as tenants and wholeheartedly agree with comments on Trustpilot that they only show duty of care to their landlord clients. They have misled us into a stressful situation and we're completely shocked by their malpractice over our entire dealings with them. After years of renting with other estate agents, our experience with them is totally unprofessional. They are completely ruthless and uncaring, seemingly thinking they're above the law. I would urge anyone who is unfortunate enough to have to rent through them, to get second opinions on any of their documentation and don't trust a word they say!
We had an unpleasant interaction with an agent from Collinson Hall when applying to rent a house. An agent was pushing us to pay rental payment for the whole year in advance on the basis of her Landlord worrying about our solvency. Despite of me and my wife disclosed for the check wage income covering 2,5 time annual payment and savings 2 times higher than annual payment. (without liabilities). After a week of idiotic ping-pong we have been approved. But due to irresponsible approach of the agent we decided to turn down nice house offer, as dealing with that agent during lease period can be risky.

I have used Collinson Hall on a number of occasions and have always found them to be professional and courteous.
Do not rent from this agency, they are completely unprofessional. They only care about making money for landlords. They and my landlord lied in order to remove me from the property by section 21 notice, then came up with some ridiculous expenses to deduct from my deposit - including for some keys they claim were missing, but which I returned to their office myself. I have been left out of pocket and can't trust any letting agency or landlord. Terrible experience.
Recently I had the worst experience with this company. They proactively managed the property in place of the landlord, and I need to say they did a poor, poor job. We spent months waiting for things to be repaired (some of them were repaired after they winter was over and the reparation was no longer necessary). At the end we needed to leave because the disrepair was becoming unbearable. On top of that, at the time of check-out the state of the property was much better that at the time of check-in, but still they found some weird excuse to block 1/4 of the deposit (e.g. by extremely overpricing the cost of repair something that didn't need to be repaired). We STRONGLY discourage anyone to work with this bunch of professional scammers.
