From the first phone call all communication was professional and thorough. Movers showed up exactly when promised. There was one small issue with the delivery truck itself, but the driver was in constant communication with me, keeping me up-to-date. Delivery was within promised window and completed very efficiently. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone looking for a great moving company.
From the conversations with the knowlegeable veteran who helped us book our pick up and delivery dates to the drivers and movers (2 diferent sets) who protected everything we shipped, I was pleased that we made the decision to use Colonial. They picked up and delivered our items on time. They were friendly and professional. If an when we make a long distance move again, I will use them. Everyone we encountered was friendly and their experience in moving came through.
Ivan and his team did an amazing job! Great communication, they exceeded my expectations.
Everyone from the staff to the delivery guys made everything so easy! Would highly recommend!
If I could give zero stars, I would. I initially contacted this company because of an advertised price of under $4,000 for a move from Florida to Nevada. Compared to a DIY move, it seemed like a no-brainer—similar cost without the stress. That was the hook. The first red flag: the moment you ask for a quote, they immediately push for a deposit before providing a fully transparent, binding estimate. High-pressure tactics right out of the gate. The second—and biggest—issue is their inventory-based pricing model. You’re asked to provide an itemized list, which they claim will be reconciled and adjusted at the time of the move. That is not what happens. In my case: - I had ~25% LESS inventory than originally estimated - Yet I was charged ~25% MORE than the quoted price That is not a reconciliation—that’s a pricing trap. I also requested weight tickets (before and after) to validate the charges, which is standard in the industry. Those were never provided. The entire process feels structured to: 1. Get you committed with a low advertised price 2. Lock you in with a deposit 3. Inflate the final cost using vague inventory adjustments Bottom line: Do not trust the initial quote. Do not rely on their inventory reconciliation claims. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration. Either handle the move yourself or go with a reputable, transparent carrier that provides binding estimates and verifiable weight documentation. Avoid this company.
The packing and loading were efficient, and the team were friendly and professional. However, we arrived at our new home late in the evening to discover that neither of our beds was reassembled properly. Parts were scattered across various rooms, and the main bed in our master bedroom was not completely reassembled.
Colonial Van Lines managed my long distance move from pick-up in Miami, FL to delivery in Cape Cod, MA with a steady stream of email communication and support throughout the entire process. The movers were punctual, friendly and professional; and handled my furniture and belongings with great care. I will definitely use them again.
The mover, Luis, was extremely helpful, friendly and a very hard worker.
The packing and loading was excellebynt. The delivery was different. Allied tried to get an additional $1000 saying the debit card wasn't approving. I checked latter and it was approved. They tried to have me get a cashiers check the next day and paycheck additional $1000. My son set up Venmo for me and that worked. I felt Allied was trying to scam me.
