Should have paid attention to the reviews on this one. Ordered for the first time and never again. A nightmare to get hold of, take ages to reply. But talked to me in emails about a fish for days, I bought it, they confirmed the order, sent a shipping day, and today told me my order was shipped via confirmation email then get a call today saying they’ve sold the fish. Great I’ll just sit at home on the day off I’ve booked for tomorrow.
Ordered a black musk turtle. Double checked stock as was a gift for my son. Was reassured they were in stock. I chased them near expected delivery date. 3 emails and 3 phone calls later to be told they didnt ever have them in stock and didnt expect them in stock. A week later and still no refund. Terrible service
I had a very disappointing experience with this company. After placing my order, I waited several days without any updates, so I reached out to them myself. I was initially told that my order would be dispatched within a couple of days. However, when nothing happened, I contacted them again and was asked to wait another week. After that week passed with no progress, I had to reach out yet again—only to be told to wait yet another week. At that point, I decided to request a refund, as the delays had become unreasonable. What made the situation worse was how difficult it was to get in touch with their support team. Communication was inconsistent and confusing, with each representative giving different information. Overall, the process felt disorganized and frustrating. Based on this experience, I would not order from them again.
I accidentally ordered two lots of Bosemani as it appeared the first payment hadn’t gone through. I only wanted 6 as I don’t really have room for 12. I contacted them and was informed it was no problem. They would just send me 6 and refund the money for the other 6. When they were delivered there were 12!!. I have emailed Delta Aquarium twice even if to just refund the £19.99 postage on the second order. I have not heard from them and am extremely disappointed with their customer service. If you call the phone number it says the phone is full and unable to take a message. I will not be ordering from here again. I would like to be able to speak to someone rather than be beholden to when they can be bothered to answer emails. I’ve had brilliant customer service from other providers and will order there in future.

Heard nothign for weeks, so did a chargeback. Then out of the blue emails telling me they were still ebign delivered. Reached out to contact them, not reply. As it was nothing arrived. Which was probably for the best. I would not use them again.
Placed an order exactly one month ago. Lost count of how many times I called with no answer. They at one point emailed to say it was being deliverd in a specific day but nothing showed up. They do not anwer the phone or respond to emails. Am now raising this with the credit card company to get my money back. Total waste of space, avoid them.
Long but honest. Positives and negatives But the summary: Animal physical condition 8/10 How the animals are packed: 10/10 Animal welfare 10/10 Was the order what I expected. First time 10/10 second time 6/10 Communication. First time 10/10 second time 2/10. Would I recommend using them? For using the online website honestly I can't in good conscious recommend using them these days. Based on how things went for the first part of my order I did recommend them to some friends but given how the second part has now gone and seeing the reviews its a trend not just a one off I honestly can't recommend using the website. That said for the brick and mortar shop if I'm in the area I'd certainly be curious to check it out. Based on the impression I got from the communications we had yes as it sounds like they follow high welfare standards etc. Can't say 100% until I hopefully visit the phyical store one day but my expectations are high and have no reason to doubt its an excellent brick and mortar buisness. People saying fish are dying after delivery honestly sounds like they aren't acclimatising the fish properly which isn't on the buisness. Part 1: Order made in July 6 wild type African clawed frogs (Xenopus) 10 wild type African dwarf frogs (Hymenochirus) 5 khuli loaches 10 Sparkling gouramis 18 Elegant Cory's 6 Pea Puffers. £170 Quickly informed the Xenopus weren't available. We decided to split the order in 2. Fish and frogs getting the fish first then the frogs when the Xenopus were available which could be several months. They also checked if I intended to keep the Xenopus with any of the other species on the order and were happy when I said no and have had them before (they get large and WILL eat everything). That's excellent imo. When it was time to get the fish order they contacted me to inform me they found lumps on the Cory's in quarantine so wanted to extend the quarantine and didn't feel comfortable selling them yet. After discussing options we chose to wait till they were ready. Again excellent! Few weeks later fish come. Communcation was excellent along the way. Best packing I've seen. Larger cornerless bags, lots of air, charcoal in the water, secure. 10/10. Only 2 dead fish (2 pea puffers). They're sensitive and expected on or two to not make it so no problem. The khulis were a little under weight and one of the pea puffer had a sunken belly but nothing major and with expectations. Everything about this order 10/10. Waited till Jan 24th to email them again. Knew it would be several months but hadn't heard anything so mainly wanted to check incase it got forgotten (we're all human it's chill). This time communication is lacking. 28th got a reply (not too crazy) asking to remind them of the frogs. Told them the order reference and its 6 wild type Xenopus 10 wild type Hymenochirus. 4th Feb not heard anything so sent another email including the screenshots from the original order email. Got a reply 6th Feb telling me its booked for Feb 12th and they'll add some free food too. Was working so had mum accept the order. They came Xenopus no problem 6 of them all wild type. Hymenochirus though only had 5. Everyone alive and well though and again very well packed. And appreciate the free food. Sent an email with in the hour to inform them and requesting a refund for the missing frogs (easier for everyone) will send the proof videos when WiFi allows. Next morning (13th) sent the videos (full unboxing from the box being sealed to everything removed, the frogs coming out of the sealed bag ect). Today is 20th and still not heard anything. Should add when I got home on the 12th I noticed the Hymenochirus looked pretty pale and their eyes "sparkling" but figured it was just stress and lightning. By the next evening after work I realised that they're actually Blondes (Leucistic) and not wild types... but honestly it's not worth the hassle 😅 But obviously not what I ordered and only got half of them.
Update review. The staff at Delta eventually got into contact with me this week to say my fish would be delivered Thursday 19th. They have all arrived today and settled into my tank. I would only recommend that there communication to customers needs to improve. I will certainly keep them in mind as the fish that did arrive looked wonderful and they did arrive well packaged and handled with care.
This place is a joke.... took over a month to hear from a person... (Peter is just a joy...(sarcasm)) stole over £150 and have been SO pathetic in their attempts not to refund my money, after I opened a review / complaint against them.... If it wasnt for Clearpay, they would simply continue to ignore me. Avoid at all costs. Scumbags.
It's most definitely one to avoid 5 weeks wait for delivery some excuse about Christmas They refuse to pay the refund saying the bank has blocked it The bank has unblocked it and I've still had no contact It's got to be a scam and I suggest contacting citizens advice or trading standards
Never having ordered before fish online .I put in an order with this company . I waited some days and had no reply from them .(Which I think you would expect) something along the lines of we have your order and it will be posted by ( and a date ) .I heard nothing then checked the reviews here. I was not going to wait indefinately for weeks .Where is the customer service? Not good ,I got my money back with Paypal and have gone elsewhere with a company that delivers where you can personally choose a date for delivery on ordering. I did text before cancelling the order but no reply .Having read a review of someone going to the shop that is not actually there( if that is true) these people are ordering when they get the orders which means you are going to wait a long time .You live and learn !!!
I placed an order for marine invertebrates on 13th January 2026 and I'm still waiting. The website is still advertising these animals as available and in stock, and has been throughout my wait. I received an email to arrange delivery on 31st January, followed by a phone call on the 30th January saying the order came in late and couldn't be delivered, so it's now the 5th February and I am chasing up my delivery again. I am doing everything via email so when I go to the credit card company to get my money back I have plenty of proof of trying to make contact. If the order arrives before 2027 I will update my review.
Despite the wait I am very pleased with the fish I received
