Diabolical communications. Take your order and money and then don’t contact at all. Phone calls and emails are ignored. Do not go near this company they are a shambles and quite clearly a scam site.
I ordered fish and other goods on 2nd december but after trying many times email phone etc i cannot get reply this company is i believe a scam company they have took my money and delivery charges and now wont even pick uo the phone do yourselves a favour and lets all get this place closed down
Be aware this is a scam website. I made a Purchase and never received my items or heard from the seller. Opened a case with PayPal and after few weeks with no response from the seller they finally made refund, but only for the items, they did not refund the postage of £19.95.
I ordered 12 tropical fish, and 6 of them (50%) died within 4 days. When I contacted Delta Aquarium for a refund, I experienced the exact same "scam" tactics mentioned in other negative reviews here. 1. The "Water Test" Trap: They asked for a photo of my test strip. They then claimed my water had a pH of 0. This is scientifically impossible—a pH of 0 is battery acid. If this were true, every living thing in my tank (including the surviving fish from their order and my 3-year-old established stock) would have melted instantly. 2. Moving the Goalposts: When I pointed out that "pH 0" was impossible, they immediately changed their story to "pH 5" and accused me of "Old Tank Syndrome." They will find any excuse to invalidate your water to avoid paying a refund. 3. Refusal to Resolve: Despite my tank being established for 3 years with perfect parameters (Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate safe), they refused to refund the 6 dead fish unless I bought more items from them in a new order. Conclusion: Do not buy from Delta Aquarium. If your fish arrive sick or dying, they will blame your water with impossible scientific claims (like Acid Water) just to keep your money. I have now reported this breach of license to the Birmingham City Council Animal Welfare Team and Trading Standards.
I was really apprehensive after reading reviews on here AFTER placing an order but I have to say I am very pleased. I have been ordering fish online for decades and this is the first time ever that fish have arrived at 23.5c in November! The packaging was spot on. I ordered 2 small clownfish and they just the cutest ever and very well priced for designer clownfish. They told me when my order would arrive and DX kept me informed every step with tracking. The fish were packed in large bags each one in their own bag with plenty of water and oxygen. They were very happily swimming in their bags . They even provided acclimation guidance and airline hosing to help with acclimation.
Missing items from order, emailed and messaged them through watsapp and got no reply.
Would give ZERO stars if I could. Paid £130 on 02.10.25 for an aquarium to be delivered to my address; order was accepted and I received an email stating such. I then received no further communication regarding this order, so followed the website instructions to contact via their Whatsapp on 07.10.25; I received no reply to my query, although the message was delivered and an automatic reply was received. I message again on 08.10.25; again no reply to my query. On 09.10.25, I called the mobile number on the website; no answer, so I left a voicemail; this was obviously received, as shortly after, I received an email stating that my order had been processed and was on it's way. Having explained that I needed a like for like tank as a replacement for an existing leaking tank, I finally thought I was getting somewhere! Three hours later, I received an email at 9.46pm stating that they didn't have my order, as they didn't have stock, but suggested two alternatives; I replied that I was very unhappy with this and requested a refund asap. My order number was on emails to, and from Delta Aquariums. On 10.10.25, I received a call from a mobile number, from Delta Aquariums, where a lady repeatedly kept asking 'how can I help? What do you want?'; I repeated several times that she had rang me and asked who was calling; when she said 'Delta Aquariums', I stated that she had rang me, but that I had replied to emails last night requesting a refund as they were unable to fulfill my order after a week or no contact and two ignored Whatsapp messages. The lady kept talking over me saying 'what do you want?' and telling me I needed to provide an order number. I again reminded her that she had rang me (whilst I am at work), and that I had requested a refund via email. She was not listening or did not understand what I was saying and kept repeating that she needed an order number; I advised her that the order number was on the emails and could she check that. She repeatedly said it wasn't and that I needed to give her an order number as she couldn't see it on her system; she continued to talk over me and was loud and rude. I asked her to wait a second as I would get the email trail up myself on my phone as it was on there; she again said it wasn't; I repeated the number twice from the email and repeated I just wanted a refund; she was very agitated and kept loudly talking over me that she needed the order number (which I had already given). A male staff member/owner(?) then came onto the phone having taken over the call; I calmly explained that I had NOT rang them, but that I had requested a refund of my money via email last night an had provided the order number twice to the lady but had been repeatedly shouted over and ignored; the male staff member was even worse; high unprofessional, shouting over me and not allowing me to speak. I asked him to NOT shout at me on MY phone, then they had called me on, but he continued. I firmly told him NOT to shout at me, and that the customer service was disgusting. He hung up the call and I have NOT received any confirmation of my refund. The worst customer service I have ever received. Wish I had read reviews before parting with my money.
I am bitterly disappointed by my experience with Delta Aquarium. After months of maintaining a healthy, thriving community tank, everything changed following a £110 order from this shop. Within days of introducing their fish, a severe bacterial infection tore through my aquarium, decimating 70% of my beloved fish. I am now faced with the heart-breaking and expensive task of spending around £200 to rebuild my tank from scratch. I reached out to the store hoping for some support, but their customer service was appalling. Each response took at least two days, and when I provided proof of perfect water conditions—exactly what they requested—they simply stopped replying altogether. Their silence in the face of a crisis they helped create is truly unacceptable. While I accept that infections can sometimes happen, but frequency of similar reports on TrustPilot suggests this is a recurring problem at Delta Aquarium. I also acknowledge that quarantining new fish is good practice, but nothing excuses such a complete lack of care or accountability from a company entrusted with the well-being of living creatures. For the sake of your fish—and your peace of mind—avoid this company at all costs. I would not wish this devastating experience on anyone.
Purchased some marines, they arrived on the day quoted, water parameters where spot on other than salinity was a bit high.Fish were healthy. Only complaint was the heat pax had not been properly activated, but no harm to fish, thank you for a pleasant transaction ,
Placed order on 02/09/2025 which was meant to arrive on 05/09/2025 but didnt arrive until following Friday 12/09/2025. The box was crushed, most of the bags containing the fish had leaked into the outer bag so no water in with the fish so they had died. The remaining bags that had some water left, these fish died within a few hours Some fish they sent out with clearly new hatchlings 1mm long so they could fulfill the order and not even viable as died in transport. The water quality the fish were sent in is questionable. Courier they use clearly is not used to handling live fish / animals as the box was crushed, had dents and holes in the side and literally thrown down at my doorstep by the courier. Delta has refused to answer phone calls, have not contacted us when we have left messages and refused to reply to emails. They claim to want to become everyones go to shop online but they are scam artists. If you think paying via paypal you'll be protected and can get a refund, think again. Instead of wasting your money on dead fish, just throw your money in the street - at least anyone finding it will have a good day as you will be out of pocket and disappointed at what you recieve. How Delta ever got a license from the council is questonable! Had to give them 1 star as couldn't give them 0 or minus stars. Just avoid them to avoid disappointment and wasting your money.
