Had a great experience with Drive 4 Fun…

Had a great experience with Drive 4 Fun at Faro airport. Very speedy process to collect the car and return. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the car itself was in great condition. Would definitely use again and can recommend.

Avoid Drive 4F un

Booked via Zest (who are very good) Drive 4 fun ripped us off on returning the car. When we picked the car up it was dark, so we couldn't do a full examination. On return there was some very minor scratching to the door. (which would polish out), but they charged us 450 euros. Even if we had done the damage, which we didn't, this was maybe 100 euro repair. Scammers!

Don't believe the reviews - they'll still scam you if they can

Spent many hours trawling the reviews of the countless car rental companies out of Faro Airport. Had almost come to the conclusion that an honest company didn't exist and that we were going to be scammed regardless. Until we came across Drive4Fun via Zest. Reviews were widely positive so we bit the bullet and booked with them. Turns out you shouldn't believe the reviews. Have been charged 300 euros to replace a windscreen for a small dent caused by something bouncing off the road onto the windscreen. We didn't notice this happen so presumably it must have been a small stone. The dent is a maximum of 5mm diameter and less than 2mm deep. The local representative clearly saw us coming as there is no way this required a full windscreen replacement - online Portuguese research confirms that the dent in the windscreen was not warranted for a replacement. Disappointing end to an otherwise great trip.

Honest and reliable car hire at Faro…

Honest and reliable car hire at Faro airport. After returning the car, I realised I’d left a bag in the car when I boarded the flight. By the time I landed Drive4fun team had left a voicemail to say they had found it. They were easy to communicate with via email/phone to organise return. Excellent customer service. Will definitely be hiring from them again.

I 100% did not use the vehicle on any motorway and should of had the cost refunded but they jave charged me extra for use on motorway.Drive4fun when you reply why don't you add a copy of the charge to prove me wrong. Excellent service, start to finish

Hired 2 cars for Drive 4 Fun over Easter break. The office was easy to find and although it looked chaotic at first we was directed to the correct company. Forms were quickly filled in and everthing explained, transponder usage, insurance dropping off ect. Slight damage to paint work on both cars, but this was marked on paperwork correctly. We did take pictures, just in case and we were on our way. Retuning was just as easy, we was met by a staff member walking the car park. Car was checked no problems. We would use this company again 100% best rental experience in Portugal.

Used Drive4fun on holiday in Faro

Used Drive4fun on holiday in Faro - no issues at all. I reported some damage on the day of collection and this was recorded. No hassle giving my car back. Wil use them again.

didn't try to collect my toll charges

avoid! I had a toll transponder and used more than my credit, but when they tried to collect the card was refused. They claim they emailed me, but they didn't, so now I'm stuck with a £68.00 bill for 8 euros of tolls. I've requested the email they claim they sent me, but it hasn't been sent.

Lost for €500 for damage I didn't cause. Poor return process

Beware - scammed out of €500. Advice to anyone renting from Drive4Fun: 1) take photos & videos of the car when you get the car AND when you return the car 2) Don’t use them if you need to return the car before they open in the morning 3) Insist they return the paperwork to you when you return the car with signed acknowledgement they have checked the car and no damage during your rental. We rented a car from Drive4Fun in May 2023. Car was quite tired (lots of existing bumps & scratches) and we had a long wait (45mins) to get the key but these weren’t big issues for us and we had no issues during the rental. Our problems started upon returning the car. We had paid extra for ‘out of office hours’ returns as we needed to return it 30mins before the office officially opened (in reality, these office hours don’t mean anything as we collected the car at 1am despite officially being closed at 8pm). Having done this with many other car rental companies, there is usually a key deposit box for returning if no members of staff are present. When we got the key, we were informed there was possibly someone going to be working at that time but if not, just leave the key in the unlocked car! Although not happy with this, we didn’t have a choice as we had already paid for the rental. When we returned the car, we were relieved to find there were members of staff. One checked the car over against pre-existing damage and confirmed all ok so we headed on our way. The next day we got charged €500 and we were sent a photo of a huge dent that wasn’t there when we returned it. We never thought to photograph/video the car on return (like we always do on collection) given someone had checked it over. I challenged this with Drive4Fun but they insisted we returned it like this and denied a member of staff checked it – hence my advice at the start. Now we will always photograph and video the car on collection and return, whether a member of staff has checked it or not. According to Drive4Fun, they have no CCTV…convenient. Given the number of positive reviews, I hope this is a 1-off e.g. member of staff lied about checking it but frustrating to lose the money. Lessons learnt!

This is the best car hire experience…

This is the best car hire experience I’ve ever had in Spain and Portugal. They are based in the car park which is an easy walk from the terminal - about 3 minutes with a trolly. I was lucky to be there when it was quiet or there would have been the usual tedious wait. The car was ready snd parked just behind the cabin they work from. It was clean and fine. It was simple to drive out of the car park and equally simple to return it. The best thing though was the accuracy and honesty of the pricing, the price itself and the kindness of the staff.

Problem-free rental

We hired a Seat Arona for 10 days, arranged via Zest. The desk was easy to find out in the car park (make sure you are in the Drive4Fun queue and not the Master Kings one) and, although it was busy with several planes having arrived together, we were on the road in 30 minutes. Car was fine, it had covered 35,000km but was clean and tidy and we had no issues. The costs for the airport collection (15€) and toll transponder (€18.50 + toll charges) were clearly explained on the Zest booking information and again by the woman on the desk. We had the return procedure clearly explained on collection and the car was checked in without any problems 4 minutes after we parked up. Would use again, very good value.

Hidden extras they know about. Poorly prepped car

On collection the car had deep paint scratches and small dents that were not marked on the hire agreement. I spent nearly half an hour marking these on the agreement to avoid being accused of them on return. No one from Drive4Fun would come with me to agree or see this. I also said I had noted that the emergency spare wheel had a soft tyre that I would check at the first opportunity. The car was the type ordered and clean with around 20,000 km from new. Some damage to be expected but a shame it was not fully recorded. This concerned me for the whole of my holiday. On driving away I felt that the vehicle was not stable on the road. After checking the tyre pressures they all took at least 7 psi to match those given by the manufacturer on the drivers door pillar. The spare was much softer. The car would not have responded well to an emergency swerve or braking maneuver. We were just two passengers with two 20kg bags. What if we had loaded to capacity with five passengers and 100kg's of bags. CarJet website I bought Drive4Fun service through says "guarantee of paying only what you are quoted", and also says "local taxes included". Not true. When you get to the Drive4Fun shipping container used as an office in Faro Airport Car Park, they charge an additional 15 Euro described as "Airport Tax". They happily point out that its there in the small print on their voucher. I gave them copies of the two NOT TRUE statements from their website and asked they pass them to their management as they contradict. No response when I returned the car or in the following two weeks. Wrote email the same to CarJet who replied "its in the terms of the company". I returned the car to parking spaces next to the shipping container/office. I was told that I must pay for the car park ticket as it should be in the carpark next to that one. They pointed out that they had written this at the top of the hire agreement. As a first time visitor with no local knowledge, you can't expect people to go driving round the airport roads looking for a specific place. Just returning to the office it was collected from should be sufficient.

Ask for concept rental car contract. No reaction.

I wrote this company twice on their website to send me the concept of their rental car contract. My aim was to rent a car in November 2023. My focus was mainly the insurance conditions of rental a car. Till now (three weeks ago) I didnot receive any reaction of the company. This gives me not a good feeling. What is the reason of no reaction !!!!! Insurance conditions are essential
