I used the EpicVIN website to request a vehicle history report for $1. A few days later, the service was automatically activated as a subscription, and $100 was charged from my account. I have contacted EpicVIN regarding this issue, but their response has been negative. In my opinion, regardless of the fact that it may be stated in their terms and conditions that the service becomes active if it is not cancelled, I find the process misleading and deceptive. I did not use the subscription service and cancelled it immediately. I am attaching two screenshots as evidence. I have had multiple email exchanges with EpicVIN, but they have consistently refused to issue a refund. In the initial page where I ordered the service, there was no clear indication of such an automatic subscription—only that it was a “trial version,” which I have also attached. Below is their response: "Hi, Thank you for reaching out to us. We’ve reviewed your account and would like to provide some details. Our records indicate that you signed up for a trial subscription on 05/08/2026, which transitioned to a full subscription on 05/11/2026. As outlined in the terms agreed to during the sign-up process, the subscription is automatically renewed to ensure uninterrupted access to our comprehensive vehicle history reports and services. For your reference, please see the attached screenshot of the checkout page. While we are unable to process a refund for the recent charge in accordance with our refund policy, we are pleased to offer you a $99.99 credit to your EpicVIN account. This credit can be used at any time and has no expiration date, allowing you to make the most of our reports and services at your convenience. Please note that your current subscription will remain active until you choose to cancel it in your account settings. You can manage your subscription directly by logging into your account here. We appreciate your understanding and value your feedback. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reply to this email. I am updating my review following contact from the company. After raising my concerns, I was contacted by a manager who acknowledged the issue and offered a refund. I appreciate their willingness to resolve the situation and their attention to my case. At this moment, the refund is still in process, and I am awaiting its completion.
