Lovely Sports Complex. First time we used it as we don't live in Scarborough. Clean. Staff were extremely welcoming and very helpful. Will definitely take our grandchildren again. Best Swimming pool I've been in.
Rubbish. On phone 27 minutes, nobody there that had any interest in helping my enquiry that the app could not help me with.
Always a warm welcome with great staff who are always helpful. Nice meeting hub for coffee etc. All areas are kept clean. Easy booking system
Good equipment, friendly staff and all sports available with reasonable fee’s, plenty of parking and accessible.caffe is welcomed and plenty of seats.
Staff are welcoming and efficient.
Swimming lessons have too many children per class, They promise children that they are going to move them up and stage and then change their minds on the day..but give no reason as to why or what element needs improvement. I now have a 6 year old upset asking me what she did wrong and I can't give her an answer because when I did say something I got a shrugged shoulder and attitude. We have now cancelled our lessons and are going elsewhere.
The staff at Everyone Active at Scarborough Sports Village are all really helpful and kind. Many, such as Alex, Alfie and Tanisha, will always go the extra mile. Tanisha gave me 30mins of her time to show me how to use the machines in the gym and was very supportive. There are a range of great classes, real and virtual, for a whole range of interests/needs. I love the Dance and the Zumba as well as the Balance, Yoga and Pilates, the latter 3 taught expertly by Sarah. The pool is great too and the gyms/entrance/rooms are always very clean. My monthly payment is good value and there are special prices for a range of people. Thank you all! Maggie
The customer service I received from Nina on the reception desk helped me with my bookings and downloaded the app and explained how to navigate it.
Joined just recently and am already reaping the benefit. Encouraging friendly helpful staff who really listen to my needs and set up a perfect routine that is really helping me.
Imagine if you had paid up front to swim twice a week for a month in the club's pool. Imagine that you had no interest in any other areas of exercise, swimming was your sole and specific activity. Now imagine how you would react if you were to book a swimming lane, make a 20-mile round trip to swim, put on your swimwear, get to the poolside - and then find it to be empty of water. And then you ask a member of staff why you couldn't at least have been informed not to travel since you'd only booked your lane a few hours earlier that morning - with a shoulder shrug the only reply. Oh, and also imagine the pool will be empty for several weeks following that so you've pretty much paid for nothing that month. I expect, given circumstances, you might reasonably expect some of your money back? Well I expected similar treatment after I had paid up front for a specific virtual fitness class I had been taking at previous clubs for 25 years. I joined Scarborough Sports Village after relocating here in 2024 and continued the same class there until March 25. All was well until the projector broke down meaning the virtual class couldn't be played. You guessed it, I booked the class that morning and only found out about the problem when I actually made the 20-mile round trip to undertake it. Given I was the only person booked onto the class that day, one would have thought little effort or common sense would have been involved messaging me not to waste my time, or preferably preventing me from making the booking in the first place. Effort and common sense seemed to escape the club however. And yes, when I expressed displeasure at wasting my time, a shoulder shrug was offered in lieu of at least an apology. You've also guessed it, I have no interest in undertaking exercise on the gym floor or alternative - and relatively rare - instructor-led classes which neither provided the same workout nor took place at convenient times and indeed the club could easily verify my chosen activity since my attendance record will prove I only ever turned up on days and times coinciding with my preferred class. And yes, after my initial disappointing day, the projector apparently couldn't be fixed for several weeks meaning that - in exactly the same way as the swimming pool analogy - I paid my monthly subscription for a class the club couldn't offer for much of that month. I pointed these facts out to someone on the club's management team (who didn't include her position in correspondence so can only assume this was the case) and politely asked for a fair readjustment of my subsequent direct debit to reflect the very specific circumstances. I don't know what the answer would have been if the swimming pool really had been empty, but as far as my virtual class was concerned, it was tough luck. Despite being able to prove I only attended for that specific activity, the availability, at least, of other activities trumped all other arguments. The eventual result - I was wished well with continuing my fitness journey outside of the club and I have since invested in my fitness elsewhere. For the sake of what I consider to be an absence of fair treatment and basic customer care, the club has lost someone who would otherwise have been a lifelong member paying in many times the thirty-five quid monthly fee. The club is over-reliant on virtual classes and seems to consider it entirely reasonable taking money for those classes even when they are not available for several weeks at a time. Oh, and if you don't like it, then leave!
Always enjoy my classes the instructors are amazing and really motivate you to do your best
Really enjoy my sessions with Sarah
Clean premises, always important. Well staffed; friendly and helpful too. Plenty of parking. A good range of activities. Still getting to grips with the app.
I have been coming here just over a year now and love the centre which has so many activities. It is warm and welcoming and the instructors taking the classes are brilliant! Definately would recommend.
