Our furniture was delivered in a broken state.
Initially I was concerned that the store staff could not answer my initial inquiry. However since then I have had such supportive and timely customer service, from the Canberra store and then in particular from Carlyn, that I would recommend King furniture to anyone.
My experience ordering new covers for an older King modular couch was seemless. Aaron, provided me expert advice and extremely prompt replies via email. We had many email exchanges discussing product codes and tweaking my order. Aaron, always replied within the hour. A guaranteed “next business day delivery” turned into a weeks-long and frustrating experience after our sofa arrived with mismatched fabric. What followed was a significant amount of wasted time on phone calls and emails trying to get answers, chasing promised return calls, and being given conflicting information. At one point, we were told the sofa was “out of stock” and that a replacement would take approximately 10 weeks. However, at the same time, the exact same sofa was still being advertised on the King Living website with “next business day delivery” available - making the situation feel misleading and inconsistent. This was one of King Living’s most basic sofa models - an off-the-shelf product with no customisations - and unfortunately the experience has negatively impacted our confidence in the brand. We were actively considering purchasing a more premium King Living sofa for another area of our home, but after this experience, that is no longer under consideration. While the sofa was ultimately replaced, it came only after considerable time spent on calls and emails trying to resolve the issue. Throughout the process, I also continued receiving social media advertising from King Living promoting the very same sofa that I had been told was unavailable. Delays and mistakes can happen, but clear communication, transparency and accurate information are critical. Unfortunately, this experience fell well short of expectations.
I think the customer should be warned that the assembly of our product - book shelving unit - requires the services of a qualified carpenter. It is no job for a handyman.
