Fake reviews!! Cancelled my free trial and got charged for a lifetime subscription costing me almost 200$. Asked for a refund since I didnt even get an email or a screen indicating that I was making this purchase and they said that I had 'picked' the ONLY non refundable subscription. (Response to them): I was already 'checked' and gaslit into thinking I did pay for the subscription and then told I could only get a 20% refund BUT I DONT WANT THIS SUBSCRIPTION. Reading through other people's stuff, they do this to everyone so dont use their services and ESPCIALLY not the free trial. I would only update this review if I can get a full refund.

My sweetie is a French language beginner and I'm advanced. With Lingopie, we can watch shows together - he relies on the English translation and I check the French subtitles from time to time. Lingopie has everything to help language learners. Adjust the speed, take a quiz, highlight words to be translated - it's all there!
I love how Lingopie offers multiple speeds beyond the standard .5x,1x, 1.5x, 2x speeds. Also, being able to have both or neither subtitles on is very easy to switch, unlike other platforms that make you search for them. I am a huge fan of the interactive subtitles that let you save new/challenging words to test you on later. -1 star: I only wish I could find the Spanish version of my comfort shows!
This is by far the most effective way of learning to engage with a language you are studying. There is choice of levels (beginner to advanced) and forms of media to enjoy from cartoons to documentaries to movies etc., with the ability to stop the feed and click on a word to learn its context and meaning. You can even slow the sound to a speed for your level. There are grammar offerings as well. As a beginner learning Spanish I am also able to enjoy media from an array of countries throughout Latin America. No other product compares!

I want to learn Spanish so I tried the 7 day free trial, entered my card details and Lingo pie tried taking £29.94 even though the subtotal said £0. You need to explain charges clearly because I have no idea where this figure came from when I was opting for a free trial.

As a Netflix plugin, it works terribly. It's unusable; it doesn't sync with the dialogue at all. Furthermore, it's full of bugs. It freezes constantly and lags. Unfortunately, it's a waste of money and time. It's a real shame I had to pay three months in advance, because it's impossible to use. It's not my internet connection's fault; Netflix works without the plugin without any issues.

I am working on improving my German class knowledge (German class 30 years ago!). I have just started using Lingopie and am impressed with the dual captions/subtitles, the amount of content and the various settings to slow it down, or stop and learn a new vocabulary word. Terrific program und es macht Spaß!
