3 weeks ago I was served a FB ad for The Music of the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit In Concert. I two purchased back-of-balcony tickets totaling $200 - a LOT for the worst seats but I wanted to buy it as a pre-wedding date night treat for my fiance and I since we'll be having music from LOTR at our wedding. The tickets were resale through ticketmaster, and I paid for insurance. The show was scheduled for Oct 7. When I looked up more about the show to get excited, MY HEART DROPPED. Turns out this show is a known scam concert that the composer of the LOTR has warned against, and they just finished a run in Europe where customers said it was a trainwreck that many walked out on it was so bad. Unfortunately for me, ticket insurance only covers illness and emergency. I figured we'd just go anyway. Well, TODAY I receive an email that it's postponed with no date TBA. I contacted ticketmaster and they said i'm ineligible for refunds because the refund period was back in MAY (5 months ago). How was I supposed to know BEFORE I bought the tickets that the show was already postponed before? Anyway, there's groups on facebook where people who got scammed by the Europe concerts trying to organize a class action lawsuit it was such a waste of money. When I tried to find this company's website, it's conveniently 'under construction' so there's no way to contact the organizers regarding a refund. If I don't hear from the company itself, I'm filing a chargeback with my credit card company because this is absolutely unethical, shady, and scammy.
If I could give it minus stars, I would. They run the Lord of the Rings concert and it's the biggest scam. So many people left during the intermission and it was honestly one of the worst things I have ever seen. Never waste your money on a show by this company. I can't put the correct date in below for some reason, but I went on 21/05/2023 - it seems legit because the tickets are being sold by Ticketek. I'm shocked that they would actually sell tickets to something like this.

This company is sleazy and not to be trusted. We were contacted by their alleged Talent Coordinator to book our client in an alleged Lion King tour. Wasted weeks of my time negotiating a deal, and then when it comes to paperwork this woman completely dodges us. Literally rejected incoming WhatsApp calls. Not even the common decency to write back and say it’s not going further. Just left us hanging. After reading these reviews she did us a favor, but what an utterly skanky woman and company. Avoid at all costs.
Update on my review/July 21, 2025 After submitting my first review, Star Entertainment contacted me promptly and refunded the ticket fee in a few days. This experience was a very positive one. We had bought tickets to Hans Zimmer music concert taking place in Kotka, Finland on April 11, 2025. By coincidence I found out 1 hour before that it was cancelled! No information from this unreliable event organizer and NO REPLIES TO EMAILS OR PHONE CALLS! I want my money back. Their website tells the concert will take place next year (still nothing about why it was cancelled this year).
This must be the worst show I’ve ever attended. The music, singers and host was okay. But the sound was poor, lighting bad and the venue was freezing cold. People had to find their own seats, some rows was missing and ekstra chairs were being put up, 10min after the show was about to start. I’m embarrassed by the whole thing and we left 20-30min before the “show” ended. For the prices of the tickets. This feels I’m sorry to say, like a scam. Someone should really look Star entertainment over the shoulder when putting on a show
Just went to see Hans Zimmer and Others. It was just an awful experience. The venue was cold, the sound was low and poor quality, the light was just weird and didn't really match the music. They had smoke machines that would make a loud noise when going off. The stage was not elevated so only the front rows could see anything. People left half way through it.
