Been a loyal customer for about 20 years but I need to change banks. They sent a letter saying they made a mistake and owed me over $900. No reasonable explanation, just 'sorry, and oh, you probably will owe taxes on this'. Today, my local branch where the personnel know me and have helped in the past, refused to allow me to access my account without ID. Wouldn't allow phone identification. Not a convenient bank.
Their horrible. Don't explain anything won't even give out credit after you've been their for 20 years and have excellent credit. The kicker you ask why you were not approved they they say I don't know. I'll get back to you which they never do. Best to go to another bank
Don't waste your time with this bank if you need in person services. You will spend all your time in line. I went yesterday to close the joint account I shared with my mother. I explained I was on the account multiple times and the teller insisted I needed to make an appointment. I came today for the appointment and the manager told me I just needed to close the account with the teller. She didn't even offer to expedite my request. Back in line again...bad service!
I am beyond disappointed with my experience at this bank. As a legitimate small business owner, I regularly send wire transfers to purchase inventory for my business — something that was fully disclosed and consistent with the nature of my business account from day one. Despite this, the bank repeatedly treated me like I was doing something suspicious. I constantly received calls questioning where my deposits came from and demanding explanations about my wire transfers, even though my answers never changed and were always completely legitimate. Instead of supporting small business customers, they made me feel like a criminal for simply operating my business. To make matters worse, they ultimately decided to label me “high risk” and abruptly closed all of my accounts. No loyalty, no appreciation for a long-term customer, and absolutely no respect for honest small business owners trying to earn a living. It’s clear this bank would rather cater to wealthy clients while making smaller businesses jump through hoops and feel scrutinized for normal banking activity. If you value being treated with professionalism and respect, I strongly recommend taking your money elsewhere. There are plenty of banks that actually understand and support small businesses instead of making their customers feel interrogated and unwelcome.
WORST BANK EVER! ALWAYS SOMETHING WITH THEM! ALWAYS. DO NOT GET AN ACCOUNT WITH THIS PEOPLE YOU WILL REGRET IT.
On hold for about 57 mins so far and counting the ai call answe said times were long expect 20 mins lol Td obviously doesn’t give a flyer about customer service
I called shortly after 8:10am today. I was advised by the TD bank website to call directly from within the TD Bank phone app. Long and behold, the phone music and voice stated that my wait time is approx. 20 minutes. We now stand on 2hrs 52 min listening to annoying hotel lobby music and a voice saying "thank you for your patience, please hold as your call is being held in the order of sequence" what an insult hay, how pathetic for a large bank. What do these people think they are? My experience is a genuine real time, like now, currently experience!!!!!!!!!!!. I have also been to the branch in Kentville, holding up the book that they do not do things like that. Escalated to branch manager that tried calling and also ended up holding online for a long time. Beyond pathetic! Shrugging suggesting to call later. That should not be even an option if they know what they are doing. Banking in Canada is beyond sad poor, its like a 3rd world country where things do not work
If there was a zero star that would be my pick. I have tried over the years to work with TD as I have my Canadian account with them but it's absolutely terrible Their online banking doesn't work Customer Service -doesn't work either Don't go there
I’m absolutely disappointed with the incompetence of the customer service by phone. I’ve been a customer of TD for 35 years. Annually paying hundreds of dollars in bank fees. I also have about half a million invested through TD using their self directed TSFA for my retirement fund and paying hundreds of dollars annually in fees. I’ve never asked for a statement before. Today I needed a statement of my TSFA account (29 April 2026) for a mortgage I got approved through Scotia Bank (at a lower rate) So I went to the bank and requested a statement (the branch I have all my accounts with and the branch I opened this TSFA account at) they said they have no access to my TSFA account to print a statement and to call the number at the back of my bank debit card. So I did, EASY LINE not so much. The person at the call center said I can’t request a statement till after the end of the month and it will only be mailed to me within 7 business days after that!!. Jeez I thought they could punch in the dates and download a statement and send it to my email address that’s registered with the bank. In this day and age with all the technology and AI you’d think it’ll be a simple thing. To add to that the call center worker was rude and disrespectful. I intend to move all my accounts to Scotia Bank who has better customer service.
Terribly slow service. There are six registers, but only three people are working, and the manager just stands in the corner checking out what the employees are doing to offer them help. I think the best customer service is paying attention to the time of the customers.
Well, clearly not a convenient bank, that has to be removed ASAP. Now the opening is at 9 AM as with everybody else, for people who are working it is not convenient, i only used TD as i need bank at 8 15. Even at 9 am only one person is working, half sleepy, line of 5 customers and two others bank staff members staring at their computers without customers, not acceptable, moving all my money to different bank
Every time you make a deposit you are treated like a criminal. You need your ID to even deposit a check in your account plus they send you a code on your phone that you have to respond to. It take 10 minutes to make a deposit. God help you if you are depositing some cash. They take a blood sample.
The company is closing a branch in ottawa ont. , at huntclub and riverside. This branch is busy and is probably the only one with a drive through teller. It is between two other branches on merivale and on huntclub and bank that are in traffic congestion at all time and difficultvto find parking. Please write to keep this branch open!! Renovate if you must but close another.
If I could give it -10 Stars I would! After 26 years with PNC Bank they close my account for too much fraudulent activity and identity theft. My only option was TD Bank and it is the worst bank in the world! This bank is so horrible I cannot believe that their functioning! Their customer service stinks their Branch service stinks and they're online service is terrible! You deposit a check and it make you weigh 6 days for it to clear, wtf! I have an appointment with Chase tomorrow and I am hoping and praying that I get an account with them so I can get the hell away from TD Bank and I will suggest that anybody to stay the hell away from TD bank!
If I could give TD bank and their lousy app a lower score it would be -0. They lock your account.for NO REASON. I have had enough when the bank opens tomorrow I.am canceling my accounts and going to another bank, that is if you can find a Bank that actually does a good job.
