Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. I waited on hold for 22 minutes and the agent was rude to me on the phone as if I was bothering her. My issue was not resolved.

Worst Bank ive ever dealt with 8 days for checks to clear , the ATM drive through works once in a while probably because they want your ID to deposit money! I go twice a week and they want my Drivers license every tome followed by a text message where i have to put my pin no. In . Then they ask what i do for a living ! Typical i guess for a bank from Canada!Im closing out my accounts there and they dont care ! Ive been a customer for over 10 years!

Experience with TD Bank on Line of Credit (LOC)

Experience with TD Bank on Line of Credit, Client Service TRUSTPILOT REVIEW (ONE STAR) POSTED TODAY After years and now months going through the TD Senior Customer Complaints Office trying to rectify a situation with my line of credit and now paying over 13% interest rate for it at TD Bank, I think the public needs to know how badly TD behaves. This all goes back about 19 years ago when I walked into a TD bank in Toronto looking for an overdraft and ended up walking out with a line of credit . The interest rate I signed on for was not the one I thought I received and I did flag it but nothing was done. In retrospect, I should not have even signed for it as it was too much for my needs but TD had an upselling campaign and I was a victim. All very confusing. I went through the Ombudsman’s office at TD a few times, Senior Management in lending and offers were made to assist that I could not understand or did not assist. This is what I have learned about this dismal experience and what I can pass on: This is a disturbing example of how TD Bank Group treats their clients. Nobody is at home here. It is evident from the almost 3,000 complaints on Trustpilot and online that my experiences with the bank are not uncommon – rude customer service, lack of due diligence on complaints regarding bank and investor accounts as well as an inadequate complaint system which appears to exist solely to hide ethical breaches. As I said to them, this is not a matter for an external government body such as OBSI but needs to be settled in-house. The point of a board of directors is to ‘provide oversight of frameworks and polices with respect to ethical personal, business and market conduct’. So I wrote to the Chair of the Board of Directors John B Macintyre after starting off with TD Customer Complaints Office where I thought to copy the Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer, The VP and Head of the Senior Customer Complaints Office and the Group Fraud Management Vice President, Business Management at TD Bank Group outlining the issues and asking for clarification on information I later found that was either hidden from me in the investigation or simply lost. Correspondence included attachments of scanned documents and emails over the years. Towards the end of this tortuous journey, I contacted Senior Media Relations Staff and the Head of Investor Relations at TD Bank as this is also an issue about shareholder value and corporate governance hoping they would forward to someone who could respond to my very concerning queries. This experience was mind numbing even though I also CC’d senior management at the time I was dealing with TD Senior Customer Complaints Office. That final verdict was that SCCO would not change the line of credit interest rate. I had found new information shortly after in letters from Senior Management going back 9 years ago. I resubmitted asking for a new investigation and did not hear a thing. That was when I went to the TD Board of Directors. In my experience, they are obligated to respond to a client situation where there are ethical and corporate governance issues regarding human resources and the processing of complaints. After also including very senior vice president level Investor Relations and Media Relations in my quest for someone to communicate with me and get appropriate staff to review the information I submitted I only got silence in return. VERDICT: I can only say that there is a very chilling response to a client's complaints regarding ethical concerns. As we know, TD Bank has been in the news because of other unethical behaviour and it appears that it has chosen to continue on this path. To not have anybody respond to my queries at the highest level suggests that clients are not a priority and the people who hold senior management positions have no desire to rectify these concerns. It is my opinion that TD Bank is a poor place to put one's money or to even think of using it for one’s stock portfolio. I would run not walk to another bank. I'm going to send this to all the email contacts I have at TD Bank and see if I get a response. Hopefully, others will learn from this especially if you are starting to bank or looking for a role in banking. Trustpilot may be a form of messaging that may make them consider this position of silence and ineptitude, but I doubt it. Silence to a client's needs is the start of a downward spiral for any company. Banks should not think they are immune to this.

Incompetent staff

I am the president of a healthcare nonprofit. We were attempting to switch signing authority to our new executive members. It has honestly been a horrible experience. I have attended the branch (3530) three separate times, my colleague has attended the branch once. I have had three phone calls. My other colleague was told by TD that it was sorted over two years ago. It was not. They cannot seem to tell me what steps are needed to change signing authority and they have asked for letters from the old executive who have not been involved with the organization for two years. I am taking time out of my work days to attend the branch for an hour just for them to stare at me blankly and say they aren’t sure what to do. Today I have an appointment with a manager finally, my hope is that this person is not as incompetent as the previous, but I am not holding my breath. If you are in Western Canada, I recommend Vancity. Do not go with TD!

They steal money

If I could give it a negative 5, I would. Only come to this bank if you want your information and money stolen by hackers, or the bank itself, as I have an expired and CLOSED credit card account that is continuously getting charged and billed to me since September 2025. And when I call to dispute they laugh in your face and tell you too bad, your going to pay it and you will keep getting charged by by vendors using my OLD, EXPIRED AND CLOSED CREDIT CARD. hackers call you from the banks official 800 number as if it's an inside job. They almost some 1500 from my account but I was able to stop it in time. I would love to sue if any lawyers are seeing this review and interested in helping me. Disgusting bank

This Canadian group TD Bank ill-serves Norstrom…

This Canadian group TD Bank took over Nordstrom credit cards in February. Chaos has reigned. They are rude, inflexible, inaccurate and unaccommodating, contrary to everything Nordstrom has stood for. The store is caught in the same crunch other high-end department stores like Neiman's, Bergdorf's and Saks have experienced, resulting in offloading their credit card maintenance and collections to TD. It is sad for the clients who have been with Nordstrom for 25+years. I DO NOT LIKE their muscular and supercilious attitude and caught them in a legal snafu which they won't admit to, even tho' they sent the correspondence dated 4/2026. This is the kind of bank Sen Warren would love to get her hands on. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau take notice. Except b/c they are Canadian, can Congress intervene?

Banked with TD for years and genuinely one of the worst banking experiences I’ve had. Repeated issues with disputed transactions, scam-related charges, and payment reversals with little real help or accountability. Lost thousands and spent countless hours getting bounced between departments with no meaningful resolution. Extremely disappointing for a bank that claims to prioritize customer service.

America's most inconvenient bank!

America's most inconvenient bank! If you have a loan and an online account with TD Bank, there is no way to make a payment via a third-party bank account without opening a savings or checking account with them.

Hostile Customer Service

I spoke to several agents and the supervisor about my payment from the paper I received in the mail and when I called to pay it, I was told a higher amount was due. No one could explain why the amount they told me did not match what I received in the mail. No one could help me and it is the worst customer service I have ever received. The conversation turned very hostile.
