I purchased Wix because it was marketed as an easy AI website-building solution for small businesses. My requirements were extremely basic: a homepage, one contact/upload form, and an FAQ page. This was not a complicated website, not an online store, and not a custom development project. In my experience, the Wix AI builder was not just disappointing. It was broken and unusable for the basic purpose I purchased it for. I tried repeatedly to make it work. I gave detailed instructions, asked the AI to fix the same issues around 20 times, and contacted Wix support around 5 times trying to get the product to work. The AI repeatedly acted as if it understood the instructions, but then failed to make the requested changes properly or produced the same broken result again. The website was not simply “not my style” or “not professional enough.” It was unusable. I could not use it for a real business. What makes this worse is that Wix kept relying on the fact that the AI builder was technically “available” to me, as if that somehow means the product was functional. That completely misses the point. A broken or ineffective service does not become acceptable simply because the customer can access it. I was not asking for a refund because I could not click into the AI builder. I was asking for a refund because the AI builder did not work properly and could not produce a usable website for the basic purpose I purchased Wix for. After trying repeatedly to get the product to work, I then contacted Wix multiple times seeking a refund. Wix refused and relied on its 14-day refund policy. Wix also said the Google Workspace/email component was non-refundable. My issue was not change of mind. My issue was that the service was not fit for the basic purpose it was sold for. I am a single mother trying to start a small service business. Wix appears to market this AI website builder directly to people like me: small consumers, sole traders, and small business owners who need something affordable, simple, and functional. That is exactly why I chose Wix. I trusted that it would help me build a simple working website without needing to pay thousands for a developer. Instead, I lost weeks trying to make a broken product work, contacted support repeatedly, asked for a refund multiple times, and was then told I was basically stuck with it because the AI builder was “available.” In my opinion, Wix is hiding behind the word “available” to avoid dealing with the real issue: the AI builder was unusable for the basic purpose it was sold for. This is a terrible way to treat small consumers. It is not good enough to advertise an “easy” AI website solution, take payment, fail to deliver a usable website, and then hide behind refund technicalities when the customer has clearly tried to make the product work. I have kept screenshots, support chats, and Wix’s refund refusal. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Wix AI website builder to any small business owner who needs a simple working website quickly. It was stressful, time-wasting, financially harmful, and completely unusable for my business purpose
Horrible company, do not use them. Use another service if you can. Turned off auto renew, canceled, and still charged me 506$ for a year lol. They still can't give a 'refund' even though it was same day cancellation. USE ANYONE ELSE but this garbage company.
I’ve been really disappointed with Wix lately. The platform feels very basic and limited compared to other website builders, especially if you need anything beyond a simple site. A lot of the tools feel clunky, and basic tasks can become unnecessarily frustrating. What annoyed me most is that Wix removed the customer purchasing segment, which was genuinely useful for tracking customer buying behaviour and managing audiences. Removing a feature like that without a proper alternative makes the platform feel unreliable for businesses trying to grow. Overall, Wix feels overpriced for the level of functionality it offers now. It’s okay for very basic websites, but for anything more professional, there are better platforms available.
Wix took 700€ from my bank account after a year of closing down my website and cancelling subscription.
I've been a Wix customer for 3 years now and I've been battling with their platform ever since. The online editor is very very buggy and very slow. The UI of our website also keeps breaking (even when we do not touch it!). I've had several back and forth with the support team who acknowledged that there was something off on their side and left me stranded with a production website completely broken + suggesting I might have to rebuild my sections as a consequence(!!!). We're HOURS of work to re-do some pretty basic things.... TL;DR: I've spent enough time on Wix (2 business websites) to now know that you cannot build a proper business website with this platform. It is very expensive for a very poor and slow service. Had I known then, I would have built my websites on another platform. I am now looking to move my 2 websites off Wix which is a pretty painful process. So, if you're looking to build a website, just do NOT do it on Wix. Thank me later.
Wix Support has now confirmed that the analytics inconsistency affecting my site is caused by conflicting BI event data sources within their platform infrastructure. I was informed the case was escalated to Development on April 21 and is currently under a 30-business-day SLA with a target date of June 7. This issue directly affects my business because accurate analytics and AI visibility reporting are important for monitoring SEO performance, traffic trends, and overall site visibility. Business owners should not have to wait months for reliable reporting data, resolution timelines, and meaningful communication regarding a confirmed platform-side system issue. While I appreciate finally receiving acknowledgment that the problem exists within Wix’s infrastructure, the length of time this has taken has been extremely disappointing. Based on this experience, I cannot currently recommend the platform and will likely not renew my services. Support Ticket: 1983015806
The worst platform you could chose. If you want your site bombarded with ads despite paying a premium service, you’re in the right place. No support from wix to resolve the issue with their security. I could not urge you more to stay clear of wix at all costs. These ads make our site unusable and has detrimental impact on business. So disappointed they won’t even refund so we can relocate the site.
I'm in disarray after my Wix experience. After many months building a website on Wix, bumping into several usage flaws and limitations, Wix's AI feature overwrote the entire website, even the company name. For weeks I was represented on my domain under an entirely different Wix AI generated company name. Frustrating, tedious, program very much in "beta"
You go to Wix pay for a plan and go ahead to build a website. After you've built the website they say you should've built it with the editor option which is barely visible on their page, they're not showing so that later they can try to double charge you for the studio as well
terrible and getting worse every day. Non stop chaptcha clicking picks . how many time must a person click all the motorcycle and fire hydrants to log in. they are trying to force us to use the passkey insted of password. The neverending image check boxes went on so long I gave up. faster to get another website builder.
