Belu Garcia is honestly one of the best vocal coaches I have come across in the vocal coaching industry. Not only does she have an amazing voice herself, but she also has a very precise and efficient way of teaching that makes things easy to understand and follow. She’s able to demonstrate exactly what she wants you to do with your voice, and with practice, you can clearly feel and hear the improvement from class to class. One thing that makes her even more special is that she’s bilingual. For those of us who speak Spanish, or who want to sing in Spanish as well, that connection makes a huge difference and allows her to relate even better with her students. Belu taught me a lot in a short space of time. Not only improving my voice range and tone but also how to compromise on difficult songs to sing it a different way. I also liked how Belu taught me how to sing with more feeling in a song.
Carla is such an amazing vocal coach - I have learnt SO MUCH from being in her lessons. She perceives what each different student needs (we are all so varied!) and is able to come up with super creative ways to help us sing better; the exercises she suggests are so spot-on, helpful and holistic, addressing not only the more obvious things that need correcting, but also the more subtle things like breath pattern, and for me (as an example), the way I talk in every day life (and how that then affects my singing). Carla is so passionate at what she does and such a talented singer herself, and an incredible teacher and educator of all things vocal (and music-related)! She is warm, caring & so engaging in her classes and we often (all) have lots of laughs in there too - I always look forward to her lessons & I can't recommend Carla highly enough. I just finished 16 weeks of coaching with Prakhar. He is very knowledgeable and also good at adapting our lessons to my abilities (or lack thereof :-) and my interests and goals. He is personable and a delight to be with. I am a 75-year-old retired teacher, and it was so much fun to take direction from someone so much younger than me. He was able to do that because he comes from mastery. He knows his stuff!
I worked with Belu and Prakhar for the majority of the time I was coached and I have nothing but praise for these two. I thought I was tone deaf and it wasn't until working with them that I was able to accurately hit notes when played. Both of these coaches/tutors worked hard to get me to where I am now. They listened to where I was at currently and provided a road map with tips to help progress me. If I became stuck, they pivoted and tried something else to course correct me. So a massive thank you to both Belu and Prakhar for your help
My teacher has been Carla. I started from zero knowledge and ability. Week to week she’s slowly built up my singing level. She’s patient, understanding and encouraging. Carla is very good at quickly figuring out what needs to be adjusted and worked on during the session. Then she gives the you individual practice exercises to work on at home. I really can’t recommend her enough!!
I feel very fortunate to have Belu Garcia Calabrese as my vocal coach. She is a gifted teacher who carefully listens to her students. I value her advice on my technical issues and the root causes. She carefully listens and encourages me to try new things. I also appreciate that she can speak Spanish as one of my songs is in Spanish. I highly recommend her.
Belu is an amazing teacher. My skills have definitely improved. She’s kind and professional. Every week she gives me exercises according to my level. She gave me the confidence to keep going even when I was ready to give up and I’m so glad I listened. I always look forward to my classes with her!
Bella is amazing. Using my songs, my guitar and singing along really keep me interested. She notices the small stuff. I made a little break thru to my head voice. I was pushing it. I am grateful to have her. And I wish to have here every. Would it be possible for you all to schedule that.
Great feedback and excellent exercises
Initially, listening to my drills and song recordings was painful, and every note sounded strained and forced. With her guidance and suggested exercises, my singing has become much smoother and more comfortable. Each day, I grow more confident—though I’m not yet ready to record my own music, I’m getting closer with each step.
This is definitely a new take on traditional voice lessons. With zoom and online programs becoming much more accessible, AM Vocal Studios has definitely been a great experience. I don't have a formal music background. I tried learning piano and guitar on my own as a kid. I was in church choir but never received any feedback from anyone. I only got so far, but that was before the internet became what it is today. Prakhar has been my coach and Belu is my "coach in the pocket." Both of them have been extremely helpful in my development. Prakhar and Belu have given me actionable steps to improve while the program itself contains a lot of the self-study material. Much like many things in life, you get what you put into this program. My range has expanded and I'm able to sing more confidently. Obviously some people are "gifted" with an amazing voice, but I now understand that the voice is just another instrument. From what I understand, the coaches that guide the students weren't "naturally born" singers either. Adam Mishan selected his staff because they learned how to sing the same way he did. This provided me with a lot of encouragement to continue with daily practice which so far has yielded some great results. I don't plan and never have planned on becoming a recording artist. Music has always been a big part of my life and culture, and I've always wanted to be an active participant in music not just a listener. At the end of the day Prakhar and Belu have helped and continue to help me become a better musician overall.
Carla is a fantastic coach! She pinpointed exactly what I needed to work on and provided tailored exercises that actually work. I’ve already seen a major difference in my pitch and tone. Highly recommended!
I've been working with several of the Vocal Coaches and they all have been wonderful. Carla is very knowledgeable and been helping me break really bad habits. I've also worked with Belu and she also is amazing. I feel like I'm finally finding my singing voice.
