Decathlon Nederland consistently fails customers through slow customer service (3-6 day response times), unreliable delivery and order fulfillment, and dismissive handling of complaints, resulting in an overwhelmingly negative 1.8/5 rating with only isolated positive in-store experiences.

One of the items I've bought from Decathlon was delivered incomplete. "Shit happens". But to be needed to wait 3-4 days for a response because "we are receiving a lot of requests currently" is unacceptable! I've bought that item (fishing related gear) to use it now, not next week, not after you will make time for me! I will definitely stop buying from Decathlon and search other options that may are more expensive, but have a better customer support.
We bought a Zipro walking pad at a premium price that was faulty from the get go: turning on and off and changing speed by itself and SHOCKING us on the rail where the panel is connected. It was an unusable, unsafe piece of garbage so we asked for a refund and sent it back. They didn't even inform us about sending t back to us without a refund and told us it was fixed. Of course it wasn't and the peoduct was damaged in transit to us. It kept shocking us and turning on by itself. So we sent it back using the same packaginf they sent to us and naturally the product got damaged again on the way. They are now saying they won't refund us. What a shameful worthless customer service and company. It gets even worse: they don't let you write a review on your purchases. They have a selection of reviews on the site but there is no field/button to actually write a review. Absolute scam. NEVER again buying electronics from Decatlon and never again touching that Zipro brand. Buy it if you enjoy getting electricuted while getting your steps in
I strongly advise against ordering a bike from Decathlon if you actually need it by a specific date. I ordered a Rockrider EXPL 100 (Order: NL5H66KC2CNQ) for pickup at the Eindhoven store, specifically scheduled for assembly and collection on May 1st. Here is why I’m giving 1 star: -Zero Proactive Communication: The collection date passed with no update. I had to chase them myself just to find out my bike wasn't ready. -Hidden Lead Times: Despite the "confirmed" date, I was told via chat that they need an additional 4+ days for assembly. Their website dates are clearly misleading. -Unprofessional Support: When I reached out, the staff was dismissive and showed zero accountability for the delay or the impact on my plans, simply saying, " you just have to wait 4 more days". -Financial & Personal Inconvenience: I planned my entire weekend around this purchase and prepared to for it. Because of this lack of transparency, I’ve lost money and time. Message to other customers: Do not trust the "Ready for pickup" date provided at checkout. They will miss the deadline without telling you, and the customer service team will treat the delay as if it’s your problem, not theirs. I am now looking at competitors for my accessories and potentially a refund if this isn't resolved immediately. Total lack of respect for the customer’s time. You can see how much they care about the costumers, they are not even answering to the reviews here for the last 2 weeks.
Extremely upsetting experience at the Rotterdam Coolsingel store with the security. I've probably spent hundreds at this store over the years and was treated like dirt by the staff here.
I was treated very badly by this company. I was sent the wrong parcel, so I emailed them straight away on the same day with photos showing what I’d received. I didn’t get a reply until six days later, but in the meantime I’d received an automated email instructing me to return it straight away using the label I could create on the website. It turned out later that the label belonged to a partner, and now they don’t believe I sent that parcel back, along with the other items I never actually received. And now they’re forcing me to pay 140 euros for items I don’t have. I was also told that they aren’t obliged to help me, but are doing so as a gesture of goodwill. I’ve never come across such a terribly bad company!!!
I had an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience with Decathlon. My first order was never delivered and was returned to the sender without ever reaching my address. After contacting customer service, I received a refund and was advised to place a new order to ensure timely delivery. I followed this advice and placed a second order with the exact same items. By then, some products were no longer on sale, so I had to pay a higher price. Despite my address being entered correctly, Decathlon provided the wrong address to PostNL. I contacted customer service again as soon as I noticed the issue and was told they would try to resolve it with PostNL. Unfortunately, the same thing happened again — the parcel was not delivered due to the incorrect address and was returned to the sender. Two orders, two delivery failures — both due to issues on Decathlon’s side. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and unacceptable. Ordering online should be simple and reliable, especially when timing is critical. I would strongly urge Decathlon to review their delivery processes and customer service handling, as this situation should never happen — let alone twice.
Fake offers to get you using their App. Purchased a new bike during a promotion, where they offered a 20€ coupon for in-app purchases. After paying €500, they inform me that my purchase was not through the App, as I used iDeal which took me out the App to pay. Scummy behaviour to get your data, and customer service takes forever to respond. Edit after their reply: I have already been in contact with your client services, who take a week to respond, and they would not resolve it.
I ordered via Decathlon with an external partner. I recommend everybody not to to this. The service for purchases with 3rd party supplier is horrible. No service at all and no replies. My parcel is lost and I am still waiting to get my money back. Decathlon does not take any responsibility. Terrible.
i bought an ebike from rebike through decathlon, this turned out to be a horrible idea, already left a review for rebike, but why should i even be in contact with them if the bicycle was bought through decathlon???? Nearly 2 month long conversation over a kickstand!!! absolutely atrocious customer service. the bicycle needs a 25mm spaced kickstand (arrived damaged) that i cannot find anywhere on the market and for the billionth time customer service keeps getting back with "if you source the kickstand we will reimburse you" MAN FOR THE BILLIONTH TIME I CANNOT FIND IT ANYWHERE!!!!!
Bought a bike online. Paid extra to have to delivered drive ready and receive a bike I had to assemble myself with defect/broken parts. I submitted the bike for return but the delivery driver took the box. Now they expect me to pay for the return costs. Absolute scammers
They sale diffrent things via partners, what its take long time to get it. Customer service is a one big drama, they try to push you to their partners to solve problem.
I recently bought a child bicycle at Decathlon Utrecht and only realized at home that the front basket was missing. What should have been a simple fix turned into a very disappointing experience. I contacted Decathlon’s customer service and explained that the product was incomplete. Instead of helping, they repeatedly refused to resolve the issue unless I drove back to the store—more than 35 minutes each way. They also do not provide a direct phone number for the store, so there is no way to speak to someone who can actually help. Even after explaining that Dutch consumer law requires sellers to remedy missing parts without causing disproportionate inconvenience, they still refused to assist or offer any reasonable alternative (such as sending the missing part or arranging pickup at a closer location). This is based on the fact that their online ordering system doesn't allow them to access in-store purchase records. The only way for Decathlon to help me with my in store purshase is to go physically to the store, which is not acceptable. Their customer service is uncapable and unwilling to help with you have bought something in a store. In short: -Product was incomplete at purchase -Customer service refused to help despite clear legal obligations -No phone number for the store, no escalation, no solution. - I was told to drive over an hour round‑trip for their mistake This is not the level of service I expect from a large retailer. If you buy something in-store, double‑check every part before leaving, because if something is missing, Decathlon will not fix it.
I bought a training machine online and requested home delivery because it was large and heavy. Instead, it was left downstairs, and I had to carry it upstairs myself, despite having back pain. A few days later, I decided to return it due to poor quality and performance. The company told me I had to take it to a drop-off point myself. I requested assistance and home pick-up, but no one responded. In the end, I had to carry the machine to the drop-off point on my own, which caused a lot of pain and discomfort. If you want to avoid frustration and trouble, do not buy anything from this shop.
I ordered a Xiaomi FED V2 40kg weight set (Second Life) in December, but received only 6 × 2.5kg plates instead of the full set. I reported this immediately with photos. What followed was over a month of delays, repeated explanations, and conflicting messages between Decathlon and its partner. Despite already providing photos and waiting for the carrier investigation, I was later asked to start the process! Meanwhile, the order was marked as “completed” in the app, even though it was clearly incomplete. No resolution, no replacement, no refund—just endless waiting. This was extremely frustrating and poorly handled, I expected much better customer service from Decathlon. This was the worst shopping experience I had. And I am still waiting for a solution. Nothing yet resolved!
(UPDATE - DEC/25) The company's reply is not veridic. The product is still available for sale: "Energiegel voor inspanningen van minder dan 3 uur appel Energy Gel x6" ------------ (ORIGINAL REVIEW) Decathlon deleted my bad review on an item, justifing it as being "not in use"(?)
