ReviewTerminal Summary

Environ Pest Control London delivers strong technical service with friendly, professional technicians, but is undermined by scheduling failures, follow-up communication issues, and concerns about service effectiveness on repeat problems.

What customers love

  • Technician professionalism, knowledge and friendliness (named staff like Kevin, Patrick, Andy, Jordan, Eriye praised repeatedly)
  • Responsive admin and receptionist staff, clear explanations of procedures and options
  • Thorough on-site inspections and pest elimination (mice and moths effectively handled on first attempt in majority of cases)

Common concerns

  • Appointment scheduling problems: no-shows, late arrivals without notice, incorrect booking dates, cancellations and rescheduling delays
  • Poor follow-up communication: delayed technician reports, unanswered emails, failure to confirm booking changes, lack of cost breakdowns before quoting
  • Questionable service practices and weak guarantees: ineffective proofing that fails when cold weather returns, suspicion of deliberately incomplete surveys to justify larger quotes, minimal discount offered (£20 on £600 service) when repeat work needed
  • Damage to property (kitchen plinth) with no accountability or response to compensation requests

No appropriate equipment, poor communication.

Despite waiting over a week for the appointment to be scheduled, Environ failed to coordinate with drainage team as requested and paid for. They failed to communicate changes to their timings. They failed to bring appropriate equipment, e.g. ladders for investigation as had been stipulated in the very first communication. Very unimpressed - a waste of time and money.

Sharp practices? You be the judge.

We booked Environ Pest Control London's UV tracking service to locate ingress points after proofing work (the latter carried out by another company) at a cost of £225. The technician carried out a written survey, identifying the washing machine area, kitchen sink pipes and dishwasher as "high-risk" ingress points. On the first visit, the technician placed a strip of Deadline Fluorescent UV Tracking Gel alongside the washing machine. The packaging recommends "liberal application" and the strip alongside the washing machine, clearly visible to residents, was consistent with this advice. However, the strip placed in the kitchen, out of sight of residents, could best be described as a VERY STINGY application of Deadline UV tracking gel. The written survey had identified the kitchen sink pipes and dishwasher as "high-risk" ingress points. However, the VERY STINGY strip of UV tracking gel was placed under the oven, located on the other side of the kitchen. During the two-week period that the UV tracking gel was in place, Environ sent a quote for proofing work (£696, including VAT). As the UV tracking gel had not been checked at this point, we asked for a breakdown of costs but were advised that this was not possible. Mouse sightings in the vicinity of the kitchen sink pipes and dishwasher, identified as "high-risk" on the written survey report, continued between the first and second UV tracking visits. However, on the second visit, the technician advised that the mice had not passed through the VERY STINGY strip of UV tracking gel .... which he had located on the other side of the kitchen to the areas identified as "high-risk" on the written survey. It was therefore recommended that all of the proofing work at a cost of £696, including VAT, be carried out. Readers of this review can decide for themselves whether the UV tracking in the kitchen was set up to fail from the outset after it was: 1. Applied in a VERY STINGY strip out of sight of residents (unlike the "liberal application" in the highly-visible washing machine area) 2. Located away from the area identified as "high-risk" in the written survey report 3. Potentially done so to avoid locating specific ingress points in favour of recommending full proofing at a cost of £696, including VAT. 4. Only one strip placed in the kitchen (one strip was also used for the washing machine, a much smaller area) We've since had another proofing company take a look at the kitchen, who immediately identified three ingress breaches in the earlier proofing work and repaired/replaced with high-quality materials. They were also very happy to move appliances to carry out the work. P.S. If anyone knows how to upload photographs to reviews, I can include an image of the two strips side-by-side. The image is viewable as a Google Review.

Wholly ineffective mouse proofing

I used Environ within the last year to mouse proof a small 1 bed flat - this cost aprox £600 for an inspection and proofing. The moment the weather turned cold again, the mice returned from the exact same place they had been entering before - however this time the problem was worse than before. I contacted Envrion and was told the only option for me was to go through the entire assessment / treatment process again. A discount of aprox £20 was offered - on a £600 service, which was wholly ineffective the first time, which I felt almost insultingly low. I was also told the issue of mice returning so fast was because my flat was on the ground floor - which it is not. While I have repeated been told the work was completed to professional standards by email - the problem was not resolved, is worse than before and £600 was wasted. Considering the fact the last expensive treatment was ineffective, I can't imagine having the work done again for another £600 is a good solution. I would not recommend the service.

They dont show up

These guys have the worst customer service ever! The booked on Tuesday then said the technician is not available and they re-booked me for Friday then on Friday the technician is not available again! They took my money and are taking ages to refund back - when I challenged the agent - they hung up on me - Save yourself the hassle and stay away!!! - Do not believe the fake reviews they have here - look a few reviews from my review and you will see someone with the same problem! PLEASE STAY AWAY!

Awful scheduling experience

Got a message from Environ saying my second moth spray appointment is due tomorrow. Prepared the apartment, arranged a place to put away all of my houseplants, and made everyone in the flat get up early to be ready to let in the exterminator and leave. The morning of, I’m told there’s a mistake and the appointment is supposed to be next week. This is beyond disappointing — they are supposed to solve headaches, not cause them. I hoped to get better service for the money. The first visit also had to be rescheduled, but the change wasn’t confirmed properly by environ, leading to a different last-minute replanning — thankfully I caught that before doing all the prep. It’s too early to say either way about the quality of the spray; the specialists who inspected my property seemed professional enough.

Just under 3 months ago had a mouse…

Just under 3 months ago had a mouse problem due to construction work in my street. The problem was, I thought sorted by Environ, but sadly not. I was shocked to discover that I had to pay an extra £181 for a visit. Environ are not cheap but I thought a trusted company (I’ve used them before) but this is shoddy customer service. A quick visit to check the poison is all it would have taken but yet they have now lost a regular client.
