Damian and Jo were fantastic throughout the whole mortgage process. As a first-time buyer, I had a lot of questions but Damian always made me feel comfortable and reassured, no question ever felt stupid. Communication was excellent from start to finish and they were always professional, knowledgeable, and quick to help. Their expertise really showed and they made what could have been a stressful process feel straightforward and manageable. I’d highly recommend them to anyone looking for a mortgage broker.

Helpful staff and quick progress reports
First mortgage were a great help in securing my mortgage offer as a first time buyer. Kirsty and Samantha at Glasgow High Street branch were both great at answering any questions I had and keeping me posted throughout the entire process.
Mark was exceptionally helpful in guiding me through the entire mortgage application process and clearly explaining the key things to consider when buying a property. I had always thought getting onto the property ladder would be a challenge, but thanks to Mark and Kathryn, it has become a reality. Their support and expertise made all the difference, and I couldn’t recommend FirstMortgage highly enough.
The mortgage adviser was very helpful and polite. The client relationship managers were not always clear in their communication, but overall still provided a good service hence why it is not 5 stars.

I had a very disappointing experience with First Mortgage. After submitting all required documents and going through the initial process, I was informed that they would no longer be able to assist me. However, when I requested clarification on the reason, I was told they were “unable to provide any further information.” As a customer, this lack of transparency is extremely frustrating and, in my view, not good practice. I fully understand that not every case can proceed, but I would expect at least a basic explanation (for example, affordability, credit criteria, or documentation concerns) so that I can understand my position and take appropriate next steps. Completely refusing to provide any reason leaves customers in the dark and wastes time, especially when trying to secure something as important as a mortgage. Unfortunately, due to the lack of communication and transparency, I would not recommend this service.
Laura Spink and Joanne O’Connell from first mortgage were very helpful through out the process guiding us with each and every detail, they made sure we got the best deal at that moment. Laura was very patient with all our questions especially with us being first time buyers in the market. Overall process was pretty smooth and quick. Highly recommend especially if you are new to the market.
