This company has incredibly poor customer service. Geberit only takes partial responsibility for their product wdith the end result being frustrating conversations with the "customer service" people and practically having to beg to have one of their engineers come to see their faulty toilets. We have a Geberit Aquaclean washlet so it has electrical parts for the wash and dry function. The electrical parts are attached to the main body of the product which is a toilet. One would have thought that the company serviced the entire very expensive unit, but this is not the case. I called Geberit today because we noticed water leaking under the toilet. There has also been a few instances in the past week when sitting where the fan comes on or using the toilet's wash function trips the electricity in the house. I told the "customer service" agent that my partner noticed water leaking and that some of it was white. He immediately pounced on the description of the water not being clear to advise me it was probably a plumbing problem and that I needed to call a plumber. He said that if their engineer came out and assessed the problem as being non-electric and an issue with plumbing that I would incur a charge for callout at £140+VAT plus parts because their engineers were not plumbers. So a company that sells toilets with a wash function will only fix parts of said toilet and that I, who am not a plumber, have the added pressure of trying to figure out for myself which part of the toilet is broken because if their engineers who are not plumbers come out to assess the problem find out it's a plumbing problem, will charge me and then I will have to call a plumber and pay for that too? How utterly ludicrous. Why would they not service the entire toilet? Geberit is selling a product that at the end of the day is a toilet with enhancements. They should take responsibility for servicing the product that they are selling. My toilet is under warranty so the entire toilet should be covered.
