Nationwide Renewables has a severely damaged reputation (2.7/5) due to critical failures in post-installation documentation, lack of required MCS certification, and poor customer service, though installation quality itself is sometimes praised.

Finally! talk about how now someone took ownership of an issue thats been outstanding and sent an engineer out to fix it and now am up and running again, it was a network issue which could have been sorted by myself (which I know for future reference) engineer took 10 minutes thats all and I can now see my solar generation on my app
I am updating my review as I promised I would when my issues were finally resolved. ( I was asked several times to take my initial review down, but didn't) I have waited 22 months since Installation on Aug 2nd 2024 to be able to export to the grid as promised at POS. As of today I have received a notification from Octopus to say I am now exporting! Hallelujah! The journey has been totally tortuous waiting for NWR to get the correct paperwork to us. Initially I gave them a 1* rating after months of waiting, it would have been zero if possible. But after 22 months of endless calls, emails, reviews, WhatsApps, trading standards and tears we have got there! So I'm keeping my end of the bargain and updating to a better review. Recently there has been a definite seed change in how the company works. After countless Customer success managers, who no doubt tried their best in what was a failing service, we finally got people who did what they said they would after hundreds of empty promises. Technician Ben deserves 5* for his efforts actually on the ground, installing the panels and dealing with the faulty battery and eventually installing the new one. However we now learn it should not be in our roof space for safety reasons- and may affect our house insurance! Also earning 5* for their efforts should be recent employees Salma and Zack , both of whom have kept good communication with us and done what was needed. My gut instinct tells me they have turned a corner in terms of customer and operational service. So, to any future customers I suggest you read the many reviews on here and just be aware of possible pitfalls. Checking them out on Companies house is also interesting ...and possibly bears out the seed change in approach and efficiencies. Hopefully you will get success without losing 22 months of your life and sanity, like us!
Despite waiting months for the paperwork, the new management team is much better than previous people we dealt with, although initially I was not happy but the 5 star review is acknowledgment of the work the company is putting in to put things right, hopefully it continues this way.
they kept me inform all the time
. We have been lefta system is not compliant with the National Grid (G99/G100), We are now proceeding with legal action and reporting the company to Trading Standards. Do not trust them with your home or your money
If you've had an installation done by these cowboys, please contact a legitimate local company to come and carry out an inspection report. You can find an MCS cerftified company on the MCS Certified website. The director of Nationwide Renewables Ltd, is now also operating under another company name, Right NRG. They are operating in the exact same market as Nationwide Renewables. Our experience with Nationwide Renewables involved an unsafe and non-compliant solar installation, no certifications or documents and no customer support whatsoever after our final payment. An independent inspection by an MCS-accredited engineer has formally confirmed that this installation is unsafe, non-compliant with Building Regulations, and poses a fire risk. The system has been emergency-disconnected. I have now initiated formal legal proceedings. I strongly advise others to seek independent professional assessments and legal advice rather than waiting for the company to rectify the issues. Nationwide Renewables used misleading sales tactics, relying on MCS calculators and making promises that only an MCS-accredited installer could legally deliver. They claimed our system would qualify for Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) payments, but as they have no MCS accreditation, this claim is false. Since installation, we have not received: • An invoice • The correct solar panels or the promised voltage optimiser • Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC), DNO approval, or ownership documentation • Company or product warranties • Building Regulations Certificate Along with failing to issue an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) they also did not notify Building Control, which is a legal requirement under Building Regulations Part P (Electrical Safety – Dwellings). This means our solar system was installed without the legally required safety certification. Despite repeated requests for all missing paperwork, they have refused to provide a refund or resolve the issues. Their RECC membership was terminated in 2024, as was their MCS membership, and they are not a member of NAPIT, NICEIC or any other Competent Persons Scheme. We believe this is why they are unable to provide the guarantees and certifications they advertise. Based on the above facts, we believe their conduct is misleading and in breach of consumer protection laws. If you’ve had a similar experience, I urge you to report them to the relevant authorities and consider taking legal action.
Have had some struggle to get hold of customer services before but once had contact with Emma in company had a lot more correspondence and help She sorted most of my issues and was very helpful going forward
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. When you take delivery of your panels please check the rear labels, We ordered 440 watt panels black duo they delivered 405w PV panels which were obsolete and they fitted them. When I complained they changed the panels for 435w all black Bi facial. No scaffolding was used during i stallation. The guys worked off ladders. Then tried to blame the supplier for the mix up. Let's be totally transparent is their motto. They are NOT MCS REGISTERED, we were not informed of this when we signed up with them. 12 months after I stallation we still have no paperwork. You are unable to speak to anyone. Also we have not received any payment for the electricity we have generated and sent back to the grid, because it has never been connected to Octopus Energy Ltd. We have had 2 major roof leaks which we had to repair at are own cost. All the staff in the centre receiving emails lie to you about you certificate and than have the cheek to ask for at least a 4 star rating on trust pilot. Stay clear of Nationwide Renewables Ltd. Tracey Thomas
Only giving one star because the installation went well. Other than that the worst customer service ever. Had paperwork issues for over 12 months. Just had messages & a 15min phone call & issues still not resolved. Unhappy does not cover what I am feeling at this moment. Avoid like the plague. Thanks for the update Nationwide Renewables. But unfortunately your reply shows exactly what company you are. You made an offer of compensation of £30. But only payable if I removed my review. My review has obviously not been removed & no compensation was ever paid. Yes certification was eventually (after I think 8 months) it was received. But you promised an MCS certificate. As you as a company are not MCS certified this was never going to happen. You said you were Octopus partners & I could easily export to them. As there was no MCS certificate this will cost me £200. Again compensation for this was refused & none ever paid. Please stop telling untruths & sort out issues.
Fixed by switching on and off by the lady at nationwide renewables she was fabulous thank you
I was so happy to get solar panels, for my house, at the start of this process communication was really good .That changed on the day of my insulation. nationwide renewables didnt fit my panels were fitted by an external contractor. they told me my panels wouldnt work on the northside .they should be on the other side of my roof and the 8 panels designed would not fit on my roof that way it .so the fitters had to go and buy different fitting so the panels would fit vertical. I was told the extra 4 panels would help pay of my loan and night time electricity and I will be earning with in 8 weeks . 12/4/ 25 I HAD MY PANEL today 8/4/26 I have received two official papers . talking to a new team of people working for this company, so hoping to start getting panels registered. I as also told by my energy supplier nationwide renewables are not registered to fit solar panels and I have to pay £250 to get my insulation checked before they register my panels I am having to update this review. since putting this review on here I have been informed by nationwide renewables they will not send me my MCS certificate until I take down this bad review. I told them trust pilot as for an honest review which is what I have done .
Did a lovely job of fitting solar panels. They were in and out in the day, leaving everything clean and tidy.GOOD JOB, THANKS TO EMMA FOR ALL HER HELP.
friendly and did what they said they would do
It all started off very well, I accepted the quote, installation was very quick afterwards, nice guys, but then trying to get paperwork back was horrendous, until one year later, Emma took the reigns and sorted out the issue within the week! She was fantastic and I only wish she’d been there from the start. Apologies for the 4 stars but I was so angry with the admin/follow up department! Hopefully things are finally starting to improve. Thank you again, Emma! 👍
My father was sold a solar system under pressure via a doorstep visit to him. He is a vulnerable adult due to him being elderly, and he was told he would be able to receive payments from his energy provider, Octopus. After a year now, we have found out that they are no longer MCS certified, and therefore he is actually unable to register his system for the feed in tariff. He was lead to believe it would not be a problem and was never told they had lost their MCS certification. Now it seems he has a massive investment that he will never be able to receive any payments back for from Octopus. They are impossible to speak to, and do not reply to constant emails chasing documentation - do not use them, they are a terrible company.
