I have been booking an annual Scuba travel trip for a small group of divers for the last few years and the last 2 years I have used the PADI travel services for it. I have worked with one agent, Penelope Sheperd, she is by far the best, very professional and highly knowledgeable when it comes to Scuba travel. Plus, with PADI the added bonuses you get when booking through them, Like DAN insurance, some divers don't carry their own, is a big plus. A few years back one of the divers required Decompression Treatment and it was before using PADI and he did not have his own DAN coverage and the experience cost him almost $40,000. Penelope Sheperd has made the whole process very easy and seamless and has always gone above and beyond my expectations as far as providing customer service. When next year’s trip gets kicked off, I will definitely be coming back to PADI Travel and looking for Penelope to help me out.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with PADI Travel. I had booked a liveaboard in Hurghada, which was the main purpose of my trip. Unfortunately, my flight was severely disrupted due to a sandstorm, with a significant delay and a risk of diversion officially announced by the airline. As a result, it was impossible for me to guarantee my arrival in time for the very early morning departure of the boat. I therefore lost the entire trip. While I fully understand that weather conditions are beyond anyone’s control, I was very surprised by the complete lack of flexibility or commercial gesture from PADI Travel, despite the exceptional circumstances and the fact that I provided supporting documentation. No partial refund, no credit, no alternative solution was offered. This is particularly disappointing for a company with such a strong reputation in the diving community. I had chosen PADI Travel with trust, and I expected a more customer-oriented approach in a situation like this. I would strongly recommend future customers to carefully consider the risks when booking non-refundable trips through this platform, especially when travel depends on external factors like flights. A very disappointing experience overall.
