Its like others say, very expensive with very little value returned to the customer for the purchase. One would expect for the money you could take your glasses home before purchase to feel them out and show your friends. Synsam makes you buy the glasses in full and then they put a mandatory sticker on bridge, right in the middle. This is clearly our business needs are more important than the customers. Most high end eye glass stores lend the frames to the customer. But, synsam charges more for their frames and deliver less. Why would anyone shop here? Simply delivering a good prescription glasses for what you paid for is not enough to say great job. Which is what most of these reviews do. If you want to stick with big eye glass stores chains fine, but skip Synsam.
I had eye strain and difficulty at work, so I booked an appointment for an eye checkup and new glasses. My appointment was scheduled for the 20th of January. However, on the 18th of January, I received a call saying that the doctor was not available and the next possible date was the 25th of February, more than a month later. I didn’t want to wait, but I still agreed to the date. When I finally went for the checkup, I had to wait more than 40 minutes beyond my booked time. After the examination, they told me I would receive an SMS within two weeks to collect my glasses. After waiting four weeks without any message, I called them and asked about my glasses. They said, “Sorry, we forgot to send the SMS. You can come and collect your glasses tomorrow.” I took time off from work and went to pick them up. When I put on the glasses, everything was completely blurry, I couldn’t see anything clearly. They then said, “Sorry, we made the wrong glasses. Please come again in two weeks and we will fix it.” The worst part was when I told them I would write a review about this experience, and the staff simply replied, “Ok, you can,” showing absolutely no concern or accountability. Horrible service. I request everyone to think a thousand times before going to Synsam. They have no accountability and are extremely careless. I have already lost more than two months, and I still don’t know how much longer this will take. I truly regret going there.
Scammy company. Got our daughter a subscription that was supposed to include them calling us for an eye exam once per year. Unsurprisingly, they never call. After 18 months, we booked her in. But this is not the end of the story... They have basically no availability on their website for subscribers, but usually a few slots for people who are not subscribers. In the Lund-Malmö area, the only location that has a plenty of slots in the Malmö Outlet, who puts insane pressure on you to take out a subscription, even when coming in just for work glasses that are paid by the your company. And if you happen to make an appointment on their website, there is at least an 80% chance that it will be cancelled because it is not with the right type of staff member or they call in sick. Happy that our subscription is ending and that my company has now opened up other options.
I went to synundersökning, but there was a zero outcome, since they don't know my previous vision parameters. And they destroyed my synundersökning results immediately, I even have seen how they do it. It is absolutely pointless to do synundersökning here.
The optometrist, Stefan, was a nightmare. It was like being examined by a military drill sergeant barking orders to the point that I had to explicitly (twice) tell him to back off and calm down. I have never had a more unpleasant exam experience and will NOT be going back to him under any circumstances. Extremely poor first impression.
