ReviewTerminal Summary

Typology delivers effective skincare and makeup products that genuinely work for many customers, but a restrictive no-return policy combined with frequent shade-matching failures and inconsistent customer service create significant friction, resulting in a polarized 3.6/5 rating.

What customers love

  • Product efficacy: Customers report visible skin improvements, particularly with tinted serums, glow drops, and moisturizers for sensitive/dry skin
  • Clean ingredients and lightweight formulas that don't irritate sensitive skin or cause breakouts
  • Fast shipping and elegant packaging that enhances the unboxing experience

Common concerns

  • No returns on opened products and no samples create high financial risk; many customers waste $50-400 on shade mismatches or ineffective products
  • Shade matching failures for tinted products (concealer, foundation serums) frequently appear too dark or orange, especially for olive/medium skin tones
  • Poor customer service responsiveness: delayed email replies (5+ days), ignored requests, delivery failures not resolved proactively, and company lying in public responses to complaints
  • Product quality control issues: defective closures on lip oils, mis-packaged/mislabeled products, inconsistent formula performance across batches

Really disappointed in these products

Really disappointed in these products! I purchased the tinted trio. I ordered T13 which is for medium skin with warm or olive undertones, I was a little worried it might be bit light as I have quite olive skin. I was wrong! It is so dark with a nasty orange tint. The concealer was the same, the colour is not as described and it is so thick and drying, it was all complete waste of money and definitely not as described. I also ordered 2 lip oils, they are actually really nice and delivery was very quick. It’s a shame the images and descriptions are not accurate and they don't offer samples. Another complete waste of money. Despite liking the look of some of the other products I definitley wouldn’t order again and I won’t recommend them.

I have become addicted to a product by…

I have become addicted to a product by typology, the glow drops, which is primarily to add Glow. I first used it, VIA, my daughter who had a bottle of it, but in her opinion was not worth the cost of it compared to other available products of a similar nature on the market that you can acquire more easily I personally really like it so I used the rest of hers given her permission I started looking at other products by them assuming they were all just as good. Being seduced by the word serum. I ordered the light serum cover and the medium serum cover thinking that I could mix the two in Summer my products arrived and they were much darker than I expected. The light is much darker than other lights from other companies had I known I would not ordered it let alone in the medium is extremely dark. I don't know who they're making these for in France, but it must be for darker skin people.and they should say so. There is no word of this on the website. I looked into the return policy. It does not exist, and I sent an email asking if I could exchange at least the medium one for another Glow product and was assured I would hear back within 24 hours and that was about five days ago, possibly more. So, I'm not a big fan on a number of levels. I was warned by my daughter but I didn't listen to her. I think I would say I'm disillusioned because they make it so appealing online the idea of being from Paris, the idea of it being moisturizing serums by the way they're not moisturizing at all the foundation serums are if anything mattifying. The return policy is nonexistent so you better like what you order. And the rumor of the foundation product smelling odd is true, although not extreme. Had I really loved the product it would not have been a dealbreaker. Anyway, I hope this helps other people who are also seduced by this company. I recommend the glow drops and nothing else. They are amazing.. they can be applied super easily. They're light and they feel more moisturizing to me than the foundation serum does. I have a real problem with being ignored by a company that I trusted enough to order from. It's my hard earned money and in this day and age and this challenging economic time that we're in, that should be respected more .

No returns, no samples, high risk

The tinted products seem ok, but this brand has no in-person stores, no samples, and no returns. That is very risky and can cost you hundreds of dollars to really get the right shade. They don't do samples because of waste and being eco friendly, but aren't full products in the trash more wasteful? The price point is simply too high to have it be essentially a gamble.
