What customers mention most
I was in the Roseville store inquiring about an impact wrench, battery, pack, and attachments. The gentleman I was told to help me was with another customer, so I asked him to answer some questions for me when he was finished, and he never returned, went on his break and went outside, Roseville Home Depot lost a couple hundred dollars today because he just couldn’t seem to help me
God forbid u should have a claim. They drop your calls , keep u on line forever , give u different phone numbers, unreliable claim numbers that they can’t find hoping you’ll give up. I’ve spent one half day trying to get a claim accomplished after delivery people smashed into a $300.00 dollar vase. I’m getting nowhere now waiting thinking my call will be dropped. Well, found out this wasn’t exactly Home Depot but their delivery service a third party …..so it’s not all Home Depot’s fault.
On March 18, 2026, at approximately 1:30 p.m., I purchased an assembled grill from Home Depot. A store associate attempted to place the grill into my truck, but unfortunately it would not fit. I asked the associate to notify Customer Service that I would need to return the following day with someone who had a larger truck. Instead of assisting properly, the associate made excuses and stated that “different people are working.” As a disabled customer who also had two dogs with me at the time, this situation was already stressful and difficult. Later that afternoon, around 4:05 p.m., I contacted the store to inform Customer Service that I would return the next day to pick up the grill. Unfortunately, I had to call four separate times before receiving assistance. The representative I spoke with, Kayla, was dismissive, nonchalant, and unhelpful throughout the interaction. I repeatedly explained the situation, yet I was continually placed on hold and transferred without clear communication. When I requested to speak with a supervisor named Shelley, I was unable to reach her and was transferred back again without being given the opportunity to fully explain my concerns. The overall experience felt rude, unprofessional, and lacking in customer care. What makes this even more disappointing is that I experienced a similar issue with customer service at this same location in March. Customers should be treated with respect, patience, and professionalism, especially when assistance is needed with large purchases and accommodations. I hope management reviews these concerns seriously and works toward improving the level of customer service at this location.
The delivery service that they are using will not follow instructions and, apparently, will leave your order anywhere except the front door - even when that is the specified delivery point. I bought three A/C units recently: one ended up in the driveway behind one of our vehicles; on ended up on the roadside of our fence gate; and, one ended up adjacent to one of our three gardens. They do not provide a proof of delivery photo, so actually receiving your product is a bit like Russian roulette.
Sheer arrogance and dismissiveness. I purchased a metal pole (not from HD) to support a birdhouse for my wife. The metal pole came in sections with each end tapered. Unfortunately, the tapered end of the top section was too small to attach to the birdhouse, but the regular portion is fit perfectly, so I needed to cut off the tapered end. I went to the HD in North Austin on Hwy 620 on 5/15 thinking it would be a simple thing for an HD employee to make the cut with the pipe machine used for cutting steel gas pipe, the only difference between the pipe I needed to cut and gas steel pipe is that my pipe was slightly thinner, which would make it easier to accomplish. I arrived about 6:00 pm and went to the plumbing section and waited around a few minutes for an HD employee to come help me. No one showed up, so I went to the front and found someone to ask for help. He said he would get someone. The first HD employee was a young man and was at a loss as to how to operate the pipe machine and said he would call someone else. An older lady employee then came and from the start started trying to find excuses as to why what I was asking couldn’t possibly be done. (I need to mention that I grew up in a family owned plumbing business and had used this type of pipe machine for many years before moving into my current profession. It would have taken less than a minute to make the cut.) She first informed me that my pipe, which was about 14 inches long, wasn’t long enough to go through the pipe machine and come out on the other side so it couldn’t be secured, as if it is impossible to cut a steel joint less than two feet long. I said it only needs to be secured at the end next to the pipe cutter. She said to the other employee, “Oh, isn’t his enthusiasm cute?” She then hem-hawed around for a couple more minutes and then decided she needed to have the manger “come tell him why it [my request] can’t be done.” While we waited for the store manager to arrive, and completely missing the irony in light of her own conduct, she then proceeds to lecture the young who man who first came to help about how rude young people are and we just really need “to treat each other as we want to be treated” and how simple that is. Then, “Jo” shows up. She was apparently the manager on duty. After my request was explained to her, she looks at me and, as if talking to a child, says, “See those pipes back there [the black steel gas pipes]? Those are the only pipes THIS machine can be used on.” End of discussion, now be on your way. I could understand if the store’s policy is not to cut anything not purchased in the store or if they had told me they can’t be responsible if my pipe is damaged. That was never and not how I was treated. Incredibly rude.
Absolute joke of a company never got my order and never got my refund rob people shouldn't be allowed stay clear of this company
If you are thinking about buying a clearance item from a Home Depot store or ordering anything from their website, think twice. In September 2025, I bought a Vissani microwave (Home Depot’s house brand) in-store on clearance. When I unboxed it at home, the turntable was missing a piece. The store told me I had to handle it through customer service. That was nearly eight months ago. My first email to them was on 9/30/2025. Today is 5/16/2026. After 8 phone calls and 7 emails, I still do not have the part. The customer service is either completely incompetent or intentionally non-existent. They simply do not care. This follows two previous online shopping experiences with Home Depot where I lost over $600, including an incident where they literally lost an item I returned. Lesson learned: Save your sanity and your money. Do not buy clearance items here, and do not buy from their website. They do not stand behind their products or their house brands. you are thinking about buying a clearance item from a Home Depot store or ordering anything from their website, think twice. What went wrong? We bought a Club Cadet Ultima ZT1 50" cut mower 23 HP on Aug 29 2025 from Home Depot and it cost over $4200 with he extended warranty, It was delivered Sept 1st 2025 at basically the end of grass cutting season in Newberry county. We used the mower until the grass quit growing and the mower was kept in a enclosed garage. We got the mower out this spring to cut the grass. Low and behold the mower quit cutting! No broken belts, checked the fuse, we pre-checked the oil before starting. Our yard is flat, no rocks, gullies or obstacles, or broken belts. It just stopped cutting grass! The motor continues to run fine! Great if we want a slow zero turn go cart! Now the fun part starts. We called Home Depot where we bought it (it's NOT A YEAR OLD) and told them about the problem, after 45 minutes of hanging on the phone we spoke with a person. They were abrupt, rude and told us it was under the 3 year factory warranty and basically it was not their problem. We were told we had to call the factory because it came with a 3 year warranty and the factory had to fix it. After another 45 minutes of calls to the factory and being put on hold we finally were able to talk to a live person. Another waste of time! We gave them the serial number and sku and they said yes the mower was under warranty. That was the good news: The bad news is they said that they did not have anyone closer than 40 miles from our home in Prosperity, Newberry County SC to take it for repair! We would have to rent a trailer and take it to one of the factory warranty sites. And no we could not take it back to Home Depot to get it repaired. We had a Home Depot person call us to tell us that if it were not under factory warranty we could get it fixed locally??? Makes a lot of sense, DUHH! I told him that we would wait 3 years and get it fixed! Don't make the same mistake and buy any kind of extended warranty from Home Depot... it's just a worthless policy from Allstate! We were stupid enough to have bought the extended warranty thinking we would have no trouble getting it fixed if there was a problem. What a run around! We called every authorized Club Cadet dealer in Lexington and even down to Batesburg, but no one wants to do the warranty work because they said it's too much trouble to get parts or get paid, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM HOME DEPOT THAT YOU CAN'T REPLACE FOR MORE THAN $25! AND SURE DON'T WASTE MONEY ON THEIR EXTENDED WARRANTY...YOU CAN'T EVEN GET SOMETHING FIXED ON THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY! AT LEAST I HAVE A NICE 4K BOAT ANCHOR! BUY FROM A LOCAL SHOP THAT SERVICES WHAT THEY SELL!!!
I recently bought a zero turn mower the experience was extremely unprofessional. The delivery date changed 3 times, numerous phone calls to find out where the mower was and when it was coming, promises made and broken, no call backs when promised, managers telling me it would be delivered that day but wasn't, another manager telling me I was lied to by the first manager. And then being told by manager sorry I am spread thin! From the service I didn’t receive, the lies, the unprofessionalism. It took well over a week to resolve. This is the 3rd time my family or I have received horrible service and issues with delivery or products. From a mower to washer to mattress and carpeting. Home Depot really needs to take a look at their customer service especially when they have had loyal customers. Disappointed is an understatement.
Piss poor management, employees are not experienced or lack effective training
Purchased an upright freezer and paid $50 to have them haul away the old one. When the "installers" arrived they refused to take the old one stating that there was "mold" inside. There was no mold, it was simply dirty. Home Depot wouldn't refund the full $50 because the "installers" moved the old freezer to a different location in the home. Bogus!
Every month the same thing...I can't login into my Home Depot credit card account (again) to make a payment. Always a glitch. Always a problem. Always another, reset password. And if I can login, I can't find anywhere to update my debit card so I can make a payment. Frustrating as all get out. Then, another horendous call to customer support to get it straightened out. Horendous why, because they have the worst touch tone computer operated Ai, to service your needs instead of a live operator. Please dial this #. please dile that #. Sorry, I didn't quite catch that. Sorry, I didn't quite catch that. Sorry, I didn't quite catch that. Lets try something else. By the time you do get a live operator your so worked up having to deal with thet cheap Ai so called customer support crap, you can't help but spit out profanaties to the poor operator when a live operator finally comes on line. As soon as I get this Home Depot credit card paid off, (God Help Me) I am cutting it up and throwing it away.
Yesterday I went to the Home Depot on rt 59 and 75th st in Naperville to get lawn furniture. I started, out with a fantastic girl in customer service which then 2 more girls were invo!ved, due to no price shown on the floor model. They searched and got the price but only the floor model was available. I asked for a discount and a gentlemen came up and told them yes to give me one. These three young ladies were amazing. They helped my daughter and I all the way to the end. I decided to rent a truck from them to get the furniture home. While I was going through that process the girls had someone take the furniture outside the door and someone was, there to help load it. I wish I would have gotten their names. They were all amazing! Best experience in a very long time!
They messed up our windows two months in a row and can’t measure because they’re all little babies That can’t count to 12 cause that’s how many inches are on a ruler and in a foot if you didn’t know
I ordered a major appliance on May 4Th and delivery was scheduled for may 8th. Logistics personal did not show any knowledge of logistics on how to deliver my appliance to my home as a major bridge spanning the Mississippi River has been closed for numerous months and will be closed until 2027. I offered to drive the 8 miles to pick up the stove off the truck as it would not inconvenience me or the drivers so I could host the Mothers Day meal at my home , but was unable to because Home Depot does not do that! I have gotten many freight deliveries ( FED EX, UPS, SPEEDY) that were more accommodating than this company. Called me to reschedule and stated would be delivered on May 12th, but when I called for delivery time frame they had no notes stated that the stove was scheduled for May 12th. After 1. Talking to AI bot, being transferred to person, 2. 1st person in a foreign country long hold transfed, 3. 2nd person on hold another foreign country which I found hard to understand told me there was not a delivery date scheduled, I am beyond frustrated and disappointed it the service of Home Depot. I will be staying with Menards from now on they have better customer service
