Agoda delivers an easy booking experience and competitive pricing, but is severely hampered by booking cancellations, poor customer service responsiveness, and inadequate compensation when failures occur, resulting in a 3.2/5 rating driven by frequent traveler frustration.

I booked through Agoda for an Eid holiday stay for 6 adults and 6 kids. During the booking process, I clearly searched for accommodation for all 12 guests, so naturally I assumed the price and booking details matched my search. However, when I contacted the hotel directly just to reconfirm everything, I was shocked to find out that the reservation had only been made for 3 adults. I immediately contacted Agoda to correct the booking, but instead of resolving the issue fairly, they asked for unreasonable additional charges because the prices had already increased by then. This felt extremely misleading and disappointing. If a customer searches for 6 adults and 6 kids, the platform should clearly show the actual pricing and booking conditions for that exact number of guests — not something completely different. Their pricing and booking system feels very misleading, and the customer support was not helpful in resolving the issue fairly. In the end, I lost confidence in the booking and had to cancel it completely. After this experience, I booked through Booking.com instead, and the experience was much clearer and more reliable. Very disappointing experience with Agoda. I would advise travelers to double-check every detail directly with the hotel before confirming any booking through them.
Worst experience ever !! Dont use this service, they kept my money and dont want to return my refund. The booking was made through them, and they still refuse to refund my money!!!
I changed the card number for a booking that was supposed to be paid later this month. However, after changing the card details, the payment was charged immediately, and support says they can’t do anything about it. It would be good to at least have a confirmation message or warning explaining that changing the card number will trigger an immediate payment.
I had a very bad and shocking experience with Agoda due to what appears to be a fake hotel listing. Booking No: 660463059 Hotel Name shown: Belvilla Grand Hotel Al Barsha Check-in Date: Sunday, 17 May 2026 As per the location mentioned in the confirmation email, the hotel was shown inside Mall of the Emirates in Dubai. When I went there, the location redirected to a completely different place and the property name shown there was Grand Excelsior Hotel Al Barsha. This is a totally different hotel from what was booked. When I called the provided contact number (+971 4 541 5355) three times, the response was very poor and no one gave a proper explanation. It was clear that this listing is misleading and unreliable. The amount was already deducted, and this situation caused me stress, confusion, and inconvenience on the day of check-in. This appears to be a fake or highly misleading listing, and Agoda must take full responsibility for allowing such properties on their platform without proper verification. I strongly request Agoda to investigate this issue, refund my money immediately, and ensure no other customer faces the same problem.
