ReviewTerminal Summary

Squarespace customers report a 2.3/5 average rating driven by severe customer service failures, including weeks-long response times and unresolved account/payment issues, despite occasional praise for individual support representatives and platform design.

What customers love

  • Individual customer service representatives are often described as kind, patient, and helpful when engaged
  • Website design and page building interface are easy to navigate and visually appealing
  • Fast response times and issue resolution when problems are actually escalated or handled by competent staff

Common concerns

  • Customer support response times are extremely slow (weeks to resolve issues) with generic, AI-generated replies that don't address specific problems
  • Critical account access, payment processing, and domain issues remain unresolved for extended periods, directly harming business operations
  • Platform lacks basic e-commerce functionality (checkout customization, shipping defaults for digital products) and has rigid limitations (400-page limit) that force customers to competitors like Shopify
  • No live chat or 24/7 support available; customers cannot reach a real human for urgent issues and are redirected to unhelpful documentation and public forums

400 page limit doesn't allow for growth

There is much to love about Squarespace. But the limitation of 400 (suggested) website pages will force us to move to a different platform. Squarespace is not improving on a basic capability that is offered by its competitors.

I spent so many hours

I spent so many hours, trying to figure out how to create my own website on Squarespace and then eventually gave up and created one on Google website builder. But then when I tried to get my domain, I was unable to access it and got the runaround between Google website builder and square space. So I ended up paying someone overseas $300 to help me set it up for me on square space. It is not very user-friendly for older people like me. Google website builder was so easy for me.
