I have purchased a few things through Affirm, and the ease of getting approved for purchases through Affirm is far outweighed by the horrible customer service issues encountered 🤪. Their "dispute" requirements in the app just runs you in circles, as does their "chat" support... Which keeps cutting you off and restarting. Absolutely nuts 🤪. I will likely end up with bad remarks on my credit after refusing to pay for a product following an almost 3 month dispute process that ended with them wanting me to start it yet again. Highly recommend using Klarna or almost anyone else! The process doesn't need to be this difficult
This has been one of the most frustrating services to use Affirm.ca I would never recommend this service. I used them as a the company i was purchasing a mattress from (Logan and Cove) had a 0% offer. The mattress ended up not being what i had hoped for and requested a refund. Now seeing that I used Affirm they mentioned that the refund would go to back to Affirm. This made sense to me but this is where things began to sour. I contacted Affirm on April 20th as they had only partially refunded me due to payments being over 180 days. This is a ridiculous policy but after some frustration i accepted this and was waiting for a cheque in a mail. Only for today after 23 days! Do they send me a message that the cheque will be another 30 days! This seem like a Scam. I will never use this service and please beware of these practices.
I have had an Affirm account for several years and never had any issues. About 6 months ago, I noticed purchases on my account, but they were not mine. I looked at the purchases that were not mine and found a delivery address. I looked the address up, and it was someone who had the exact first and last name as me in a totally different state. I verified I was not making any payments on those purchases, and after a couple of calls and emails, they were able to get them cleared up. Fast forward to about a month ago, I was unable to access my account, and it was frozen due to fraudulent/ suspicious activity. Customer service said they could not verify my identity and would not allow me to speak to anyone to verify it or send in proof of verification. I thought this was weird. Here I am trying to clear this up and do everything I can to prove my identity, but Affirm won't allow me to or give me any answers to anything regarding my account. Payments are still coming out of my bank account even though the email says any loans on my account will be forgiven and no longer my responsibility. They won't unfreeze my account or send me statements to verify these payments are my purchases. This is probably one of the WORST customer service companies I have ever dealt with. Surely this can't be legal. Think twice before opening an account with them.
