Chime has a severely divided user base with a 2.8/5 rating: loyal long-term customers praise convenience and features, while numerous others report critical failures in cash deposit handling, fraud protection, and customer support responsiveness.

Chime outsources its customer service to everywhere except native English speaking countries, it would seem. The reps often try to help, but they either do not have any power or they do not know how to help. To escalate an issue is very difficult and often results in more frustration. I have a message for Chime - this is money we are dealing with. It’s necessary for being able to buy food, put a roof over one’s head, etc. Your customers need to be able to communicate with your employees. Enough said.
Chime scheduled my account for involuntary closure, then restricted my ability to deposit funds to resolve a negative balance and repay a $35 instant loan. Despite blocking all standard deposit methods, they kept sending notices warning that non-payment would be reported to the credit bureaus. When I contacted support, I was told the only accepted methods were direct deposit or Social Security deposits – neither of which was available to me. Two hours and twenty minutes on the phone, nine transfers between Member Services and the Fraud Department, and nothing but conflicting information with no resolution. At one point, a rep tried to claim that legitimate emails sent directly from Chime’s official support address were not authentic because they lacked a “reference number.” I have those emails. They came from Chime’s own domain and reference my actual account closure details. Nine transfers later, I was told Bancorp requested the closure, the account was no longer considered active, and Chime would not allow payment – but would still report the delinquency to the credit bureaus. I have written documentation from Chime acknowledging they were actively “reviewing options” to let me bring the account current. Blocking repayment while threatening credit damage is predatory. Chime should be held accountable.

They said take process day I was asking for emegrency. Tempor credit. I hate neen waiting too long and im in nursing home rehabilitation so they should doing real quick. To refund ... asap
I have been with chime bank for over three years now and I would say this is a horrible bank there employees are in different countries barely speak English have hardly any training because one person one the line tells you one thing then another tells you entirely something different I’m closing my account with chime bank. ASAP and going with Sofi banks I would not advise anyone to go with chime bank!!!!!’nnm nn
BEWARE!!! You cannot trust Chime with your money. $3,OOO was stolen from my account and Chime just says they investigated and my dispute is denied. They do not stand behind their customers. YOUR MONEY IS NOT SAFE HERE!!!
I had a serious issue with Chime after depositing $1,000 in cash at Walgreens. Only $100 posted to my account. I provided full documentation, including the Walgreens receipt and verification of the cash load, yet Chime refused to correct the missing $900. Every email I sent was met with automated replies telling me to call support, and every phone call led to being transferred around with no resolution. I also requested to close my account multiple times in writing. My balance was $0.00 with no pending transactions, but Chime still refused to close the account and continued sending automated messages instead of addressing the issue. This made it impossible to get proper documentation or accountability. If you ever have a cash load discrepancy or need written support, Chime will not help you. Their system is unreliable, their communication is evasive, and they do not take responsibility when money goes missing. I do not recommend trusting them with your money.
Chime took 54$ from me for a virtual card that I don't know about then I called they tell me it's for online shopping I tried to tell her there was a language barrier that I don't need it cause I do online shopping I didn't even sign up for then tells me I don't get a refund it's not refundable smh I'm done the hell with chime
My name is Arden Tucker and a satisfied chime customer for over a year now until today. Today I did a reload at the Walgreens, for a $1000.00 dollars and and only received a $100.00 dollars. I called chime corporate and filed a dispute and also uploaded the receipt from Walgreens proving that I did in fact give a thousand dollars. Now chime is screwing me around. I'm going to write a bad review about chime every single day until I get my 900 hundred dollars.... today is one the worst days of my life, thanks for screwing me over CHIME.....Arden Tucker
Worst financial experience ever, for a simple transaction, such as my daughter sending me money for a repayment. It requires that I enter their App, why should I? Then it asks for personal info such as ID and face recognition, why should I? Bastards, all they want is to collect personal info and sell their crooked system. Stay away from this rip-off financial scam, they are not a bank!
If I could give this one star I would, I deposited 1,000 dollars into my account they only gave me 100 I called them and gave them all of the information on the receipts and the print of the receipt I received from the store manager and they told me it would be 45 days before I get my money! As soon as I receive what is owed to me I will be closing the account and letting everyone I know to never deal with chime
I’m closing ALL of my Chime accounts after years of loving the service. They were notified about 3 unauthorized transactions on April 9th, the same day the charges were announced in my account. But instead of keeping my money in my account they went ahead and paid all 3 charges. Today they sent me an email stating that they were not going to pay me back for the theft but that they were going to also charge my account the exact same amount of the 3 totaled charges again on the 30th of this month. Completely criminal behavior!! I’m hiring an attorney and suing them!
I unfortunately fell for a scam and sent money on this app. Once I realized the extent of the situation, I reached out to Chime who said they wouldn’t really be able to help due to the instantaneous nature of the transaction. Financial institutions should have better consumer protection measures for their clients. I definitely won’t be using chime in the future, knowing that it is full of fraudulent activity that is condoned and assisted.
I have never regret anything more than having download this app. I never got my money. They never help you with anything. I had a close the account to see if my money gets transferred to my old account. Very disappointing not reliable at all.
I’ve learned THREE BIG LESSONS today(the number 3 has always been my lucky number).Lesson number one, never file your taxes with Chime. You don’t receive the $3,000 bonus that they say you will receive and they have no clue to where your tax refund will come.( when I say nothing. As in zilch). Lesson number two,Choice Hotel are not aware of the way that the hotel front office is treating their customers as Choice privilege customers. There’s no privilege in treating your customers as racism still exist.. Lesson number three, only help others when GOD tells you to do it. The end result will be a bigger blessing in return.. I Love all GOD children!!! Rashad Williams Chime Online Banking
