ReviewTerminal Summary

Chime has a severely divided user base with a 2.8/5 rating: loyal long-term customers praise convenience and features, while numerous others report critical failures in cash deposit handling, fraud protection, and customer support responsiveness.

What customers love

  • Convenient app features, SpotMe loans, and no ATM fees at partner retailers
  • Reliable for long-term users with multi-year positive track records
  • Fast and easy money transfers for peer-to-peer payments

Common concerns

  • Cash deposits at retailers (especially Walgreens) frequently post incomplete amounts; Chime refuses to resolve or refund missing funds despite documentation
  • Poor fraud protection and dispute resolution; unauthorized transactions are charged despite customer notification, with Chime denying reimbursement
  • Customer support is unresponsive, relies on automated replies, refuses account closures, and transfers calls without resolution

Yes I was giving so many notices about…

Yes I was giving so many notices about getting people to join prime and if they join prime they would split I think $100 or $150 between two people but I feel that that is a false advertisement statement because I did that I had some friends for the first time to send me money through time and when I called to speak in XY I didn't receive just for getting someone to sign up with time they told me they had to go through all kinds of hula hoops just to receive the money that charm promised I feel that that is very bad business to tell customers not only is that misleading but that is very unprofessional for whomever is behind it so therefore I will be looking elsewhere with a bank that is doing that and I did do just that I am now with Woodforest but I still use my time as well I do believe chime has good aspects and dealing with wood forest they promised if you had someone else sign up which I did was my husband and gave us $150 and each one of our accounts in 2 weeks this is what I call keeping your word and being honest to your customers I feel time whoever the administration is needs to do better
