One of the worst customer service experiences…

One of the worst customer service experiences I've gone through. I purchased a device on Giztop with no issues. I then tried to purchase another item when all of a sudden, PayPal flagged my account and requested that I verify my identity. Not sure what happened with my verification process, but I proceeded to coordinate with a customer rep via online chat. That turned out to be a waste of my time. The rep stated that I violated PayPal's policies which resulted in my account being limited. I then asked what exactly it was that I did and they claimed they couldn't tell me due to a policy. I then stated that that's unacceptable to refuse to tell someone what exactly what they did wrong. After a few exchanges, I ultimately ended the chat and called customer service. I surprisingly gained some way in working towards a solution. The rep asked me to verify a charge and its amount in which I did so. I found this extremely perplexing considering I went through the identity verification the night before. The rep then stated that my case would be sent to her team for a manual review and it'll take between 24 hours to 7 business days. I already knew this was going to bite me in the behind. The next day, I receive a notification through a service called Swappa where consumers can buy or sell electronics. In this case, I had two items for sale and one was going to be bought. However, the gentleman couldn't purchase of my items because my PayPal account is permanently limited. Because of this, I had to cancel my listings. Regardless of whether my account is restored or not, I will always say that PayPal has an abysmal customer service and needs to be improved greatly. It's unfortunate that there isn't another service out there that competes with PayPal. Otherwise, I would gladly do my business with them.

Payment security is a joke

Payment security is a joke. Got scammed out of $3299 and PayPal won't protect me or go after the money. Had used PayPal for years but will revert to a credit card payment instead or another form of secured payment.

Lousy job PayPal, been getting worse for years.

I have been a Customer for close to 20 years. 9:05 CDT letting in wrong purchase can't even speak with someone. I'm going to call you within your Bankers Hours and report your screw up and cancel my membership. Can't say what I want to because everybody is such a sissy now days. They won't post it.

paypal is the worst

paypal is the worst. i just lost access to my hotmail mail account as this clowns stopped the automatic monthly payments to Microsoft for no reasons. I am not even able to withdraw my balance.

I have not received my refunds in total…

I have not received my refunds in total amount. I should get 550£ refunded and they only refunded me in total 3hundred-something. I called them and told them that I have not received my full refund - they were telling me I have. But where is the money then if not on my Paypal account or my bank account? And when I asked to complain they told me we will forward you onto the manager and let me wait - untill that impossible customer service finished for the day. Seriously, my next step is directly the ombuds man. I am seriously not here to give up my over 200£ refund. What a disgrace.

I use Paypal since decades..

I have been using PayPal for decades—literally since the beginning. Unfortunately, their Buyer Protection doesn't work anymore. I bought an SSD on AliExpress that turned out to be a total scam. When it arrived, the drive didn't work at all; it’s impossible to use, format, or test. After AliExpress failed to resolve the issue, I opened a claim using PayPal Buyer Protection. Instead of helping a long-term customer, PayPal closed the case without any explanation and sided with the fraudulent seller. Case ID: PP-R-CDZ-627876505

I'm really shocked by the bad reviews!

I'm really shocked by the bad reviews! I just had a very pleasant experience with Irene, a customer service agent who called me once I opened a live chat regarding a worry that I had been scammed by a company. She explained she will open a dispute and then a minute later she said that due to buyer protection and as a courtesy of Paypal they are happy to refund me immediately. I am delighted because usually it takes so long and so much hassle with companies to receive responses & refunds. Many thanks Paypal :)

SCAMMED

What happened? Purchase merchandise from PayPal Vendor Items never sent by merchant which one could see below! Merchant lied about product, received funds from customer, would not send tracking number, would not reply after receiving payment, filed complaint with PayPal-who rejected claim and favored the merchant, sent claim higher and PayPal refused again. Pathetic

I love PayPal, but their customer service is a joke. They placed limitations on my account, and even after I provided all the documents they asked for, it’s been over a week with no action taken. Their message says, “We will get back to you within 2–4 days.” What kind of nonsense is this? Today is the 9th or so day

Simply Awful!!!

One star is way too much for this awful company. We are nonprofit education company and have had a PayPal account for years where we sell dance courses to repeat students. All of a sudden in the past few days, our transactions have not gone through, with the message, "As part of our security measures, we review certain payments more closely to ensure our platform is being used properly and to minimize the potential risk for us and our customers.” Why after all these years, all of a sudden, our company is considered to be a potential risk?!! I chatted with a rep and she said these transactions are under “review for compliance” and it may take up to 7 days!!!!!! I asked why and she said she does not know. I then called the customer support. After waiting for a very long time, the rep who looked into my account said the transactions are under review for 72 hours. (It would be good if their team could have consistent grasp of their company policy!!!) I asked why and how inconvenient and frankly, disappointing it is to be treated this way after having an account with Paypal for years. He said we are reviewing your transactions. I said I might have to close this account as this is inconvenient and we cannot afford this happening from time to time. Instead an apology or a word of sympathy, he simply said you cannot close your account as your transactions are pending!!!!!! If their customers are this worthless to them, I have to say this is an absolutely worthless company and we will close our account as soon as we can. I encourage everyone to boycott this awful company. Paypal is what we ALL need to review for complying with human values!!!!!!!

The WORST in technical support for…

The WORST in technical support for Paypal POS. Do NOT use it, it will thoroughly waste your time. If frontline support can't solve the problem, they "escalate" it to the "IT Team" somewhere else in the world. Up until a couple months ago, if an issue was "escalated", someone in the "IT Team" took over direct communication with the end-user, and the situation would be resolved expeditiously. NOW, some executive at Paypal, for whom functional technical support for the user is the LAST thing on their mind, decided the "IT Team" cannot directly and interactively communicate with the end user, and not even with frontline technical support. An escalation request is sent to this mysterious IT team and 24 hours or more later, said IT Team responds to the frontline technical support with an email who THEN responds to the user. The three times I have tried resolving an acknowledged fault in the POS system and the issue gets escalated (and has repeated many times, so this ballyhooed IT Team doesn't even try to fix problems permanently), I get a response asking me to do what was already done and thoroughly documented in the escalation request (So this vaulted, escalated "IT Team" does not even have the integrity or the courtesy to read the escalation notes). And then it takes ANOTHER 24 hours to get a response in which they again suggest doing something I've already done with frontline support. Frontline support is as frustrated as me because it wasn't always like that and now they have to deal with irate customers, who are businesspeople trying to run a business, usually retail, screaming bloody murder. This utterly time-wasting dysfunctional support system has ONLY occurred since Paypal bought Zettle and mandated these changes. Shame on PayPal. Do NOT use their POS system. Even if it's free, it's not worth the wasted time. My prediction: Paypal will announce they are writing off the entire POS system and closing it down because nobody is using it because its got problems and technical support is utterly dysfunctional because some Paypal executive royally messed up and ruined it.

PayPal is run by corrupt thiefs

My Trust in Paypal in recent years has hit an all-time low, Paypal authorised a payment I told them clearly not make, to make matters worse paypal cannot or will not retrieve the payment, and are now hounding me to make the payment to them, if the Name Mark Vansickle shows up in your contacts it’s from Paypal who are probably using it to scam money, or Mr Vansickle is receiving it and is a thief, the worst part is PayPal told me to cancel the payment from my Bank, now they are hounding me for payment, I get 2 or 3 calls a day from some Indian call centre who cant be trusted, I have made the payment now but I will never use PayaPal again there are better ways. This company has really gone down the toilet.

Disgusting and criminal service

This is my second complaint regarding PayPal. I have never experienced anything as useless as their "Customer Service" department. I have now been locked out of my account for almost two weeks. I have sent almost 30 emails, and repeated my story multiple times. I simply get multiple people writing back with conflicting information. I cannot access my money and I no longer know what to do to resolve it.

Worst experience , worst suppprt

This has been one of the most unsatisfactory experiences to date. The primary concern is that regardless of the factual information provided regarding one's small business, accounts are subjected to permanent restrictions. This occurs even when the business possesses a legitimate LLC and a verifiable business presence.
